Maybe these people weren't so bright after all. Who would work for no salary but a lump sum at a future date in a company that is $100B+ in the hole going down in flames?
A lesson for any employees at a company that seeks a bailout in the future: if you don't like your board of directors driving your company in the ditch and all, wait until your new board of directors takes over: 500+ clowns in Washington plus a few rabid Attorneys General
Just let it go kaput and leave the market to the competitors and avoid this circus of incompetents.

This bonus they just received is likely to be the last one they ever receive, and they'd best get it while they can.
