Senate Democrats to scrap Obama's $400 tax credit

WASHINGTON (AP) - A top Democrat in the Senate announced a budget blueprint Tuesday that would scrap President Barack Obama's signature tax cut after 2010 and blends sleight of hand with modest restraint on domestic programs to cut the deficit to sustainable levels.

On the $400-$800 tax credits, White House budget director Peter Orszag noted that it will be in place for two years, giving the administration and Congress time to find ways to extend it.

So we are going to cut them off in two years so we can claim now that the deficit won't be as bad five years from now but we will still try to continue them in two years from now? God what dishonest people.

Also: I had to double-check when I read the phrase "sleight of hand" to make sure this was from AP. I immediately went to see which AP writer penned the thing and found that there was only an AP byline.

perhaps it time to mount a sustained email, mail and telephone call, full court press demanding the budget contain no new programs, no new or additional spending above the last budget. Cut it to the bone!!

I thought the idea was they’d have a majority of non taxpayers receiving more money from the minority who make more and that would create a constituency always in favor of Democrats.

Many, many took the bait; now here’s the switch. Can this come as a surprise to ANYONE who has been paying attention. And the Wash Post puts it on an inside page. All the independents who voted for BO are getting what they so richly deserve; too bad everyone else is getting screwed, too.
