It would be a good idea to read the legislation before you make that judgement. The bill is aimed toward mandatory involvement by schoolchildren in public school and kids in college. It was listed as mandatory on Obama’s original whitehouse page then sanitized once word got around but the bill is still aimed in that direction.
The attached amendment says what it says. If it is truly “mandatory volunteerism” (an oxymoron) then this is close to Nazi Germany. Take a look at the news...
Have you ever seen Pimfst en Dienst (Spell?) Its the HJ hand book. When my grandchildren come home to show me how to throw a grenade, and the proper positions of firing rifles I’ll worry. If teaching youth to do some community service like cleaning the highway or a corner lot is revolutionary, then so be it. We shouldn’t have to do that, but lets face it, the kids today spend most of their time with their computer, cell phone or X Box.
