'Valley Girl' McCain Delivers Like Totally Gnarly Performance on Larry King
NewsBusters ^ | March 23, 2009 | P.J. Gladnick

For the record, Laura Ingraham never actually called Meghan McCain fat. However, Ingraham has been dead on hilarious in her imitation of Meghan's mindless sounding Valley Girl accent. A quick listen to Ms McCain's voice on this video clip of her appearance on CNN's Larry King Live last night brought back memories of the years your humble correspondent spent in the San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles, birthplace of the Valley Girl accent which, unfortunately, spread to many parts of the country. That Valspeak accent still painfully reverberates in my ears yet despite my earnest hope that it would die a permanent death, along comes Meghan McCain to resurrect that annoying sound in interview after interview in her quest for eternal publicity for herself.

So how does someone who sounds so annoyingly vacuous rate so much publicity? Simple. When a Republican (or relative of a prominent Republican) slams Republicans and/or conservatives, such a person will be enthusiastically given a national forum by the MSM. Even someone like John McCain's daughter who doesn't really sound all that interested in political issues. As you can see in this interview, Valley Girl McCain seems much more enthusiastic rambling on about how she was supposedly "dissed" by Laura Ingraham and carefully pondering which tattoo to choose for her wrist. First Larry plays a video clip of Barack Obama laughing while discussing the economic crises during his 60 Minutes interview with Steve Kroft then asks Meghan for her "learned" input:

She says she is liberal on social issues, that she supports gay marriage
and personally is pro-life but not going to judge someone that is pro-choice
because it is “not her place to judge other people and what they do with their body.”

Then she is, like, so totally NOT, like, pro-life.

Why the need to totally nuance everything and such like?

Own it, Miss Megan.

You are a lib!

Why be ashamed of it?

Yep. You are right about John Kerry, although he sounds a bit to the right of Meghan McCain:
"I oppose abortion, personally. I don't like abortion. I believe life does begin at conception."
--Interview in the Dubuque, Iowa, Telegraph Herald, July 2004
"First of all, I cannot tell you how deeply I respect the belief about life and when it begins. I'm a Catholic - raised a Catholic. I was an altar boy. Religion has been a huge part of my life, helped lead me through a war, leads me today.

"But I can't take what is an article of faith for me and legislate it for someone who doesn't share that article of faith, whether they be agnostic, atheist, Jew, Protestant, whatever. I can't do that. But I can counsel people, I can talk reasonably about life and about responsibility."

--Second Presidential Debate, St. Louis, October 8, 2004

RABS -- I think you should write this supercoolish genY progressive valleytwit a letter.

I would be willing to write a letter, with copies delivered to the official domain registrant of McCainBlogette.com, as well as the offices of The Daily Beast, Sen. McCain, Ann Coulter, and Laura Ingraham, if other Freepers in their late teens and early to mid twenties would be willing to collaborate on and cosign the letter.

...but in fairness to me, I am a different generation than the people that are giving me heat. I'm 24 years old. I'm not in my 40s, I'm not in my 50s and older. And I think there's just such a generation gap, that the people that don't understand me...

Meghan McCain is appointing herself the spokeswoman of an entire generation. And, the media is using her as the spokeswoman of the Republican Party.

What a twit. She probably things that young conservatives and young libertarians are abominations.

That's close enough.

Mom, don't know why you didn’t simply provide this info yourself, as was your responsibility.

This line of reasoning, like, makes SO much sense...

“I’m personally pro-life because I don’t want to kill my baby, but I’m not going to judge anyone else for doing what they want with THEIR OWN body.”

Makes perfect sense! /s

Cedric... you were the only one questioning it.

Perhaps you should do your homework before stomping your feet and crying "Prove It, Prove It!!!!"

I only jumped in to stop the senseless whining.

I asked for a link.

The person making the claim always has the responsibility to prove the claim upon request.

Your perversity, notwithstanding, thems the rules.

Next time, butt out.

Well you had a “responsibility” to prove that Meghan McCain was pro-life as you stated and you didn’t do that very well and I’m not going to provide a link to someone that demands it of me—especially since it was common knowledge about John Kerry’s duplicity and can be easily Google searched. It’s not like it was obscure, hard to find info. If that were the case, I would have been more than happy to provide the source.

RE “Meghan McCain is appointing herself the spokeswoman of an entire generation. And, the media is using her as the spokeswoman of the Republican Party.

Well put, reminds me of Cindy Sheenan. The MSM really threw clueless Cindy away when her usefulness came to an end. She was on Larry King too. Both women are pretty dumb and uninformed. As far as representing republican party??, What party? Do we have a party?

I never even heard of Meghan till Rabs started pinging me a couple of weeks ago.

Teen Beauty Queen Review of the News;

http://wbal.com/apps/news/templates/story.aspx?articleid=23667&zoneid=15

I can’t believe it is still going. But, it’s like, totally, like still funny!

They are trying to create a "moderate" Republican woman to eventually be the new Sarah Palin.

Look at what happened to the last high-profile moderate Republican woman, Susan Molinari. At least she had a position of leadership in the House, was an elected official, didn't simply ride on her father's office. But she let the MSM-stuff go to her head, her stint on Saturday-morning news extremely short-lived.

Someone please explain for me why anyone ought to give the daughter of a losing presidential candidate any credence whatsoever??
