Suggesting eligibility proof gets congressman scorned
WorldNetDaily ^ | 03/23/2009 | Bob Unruh

A new member of Congress arrived in Washington to a flood of questions from his constituency about Barack Obama's eligibility to be president: Was he really born in the United States, and was he qualified under the Constitution's requirement that the office be occupied only by a "natural born" citizen?

So U.S. Rep. Bill Posey did what most congressmen would do regarding a subject of grave concern to their voters: He proposed a bill that would require future presidential candidates to document their eligibility. And that has earned him scorn and ridicule.

"What you should do is stop embarrassing yourself and take the Reynolds Wrap off your head," MSNBC commentator Keith Olbermann suggested to Posey.

U.S. Rep. Neil Abercrombie, D-Hawaii, has gone so far as to suggest that Posey's judgment is skewed.

"It's one thing to try to be responsive to your constituents, no matter how marginal," Abercrombie told the St. Petersburg Times. "I understand that. But to take it to the point of putting it into a bill -- you open yourself up, then, to having your judgment questioned."

This is just amazing. I have to show an original birth certificate to get a drivers license but the President doesn't have to, to become POTUS!

Just amazing.

As I've said, "No honest person would see any reason to oppose this common sense measure."

Do we have a conservative state legislature filing and acting on this bill? Presidents still need to file papers with each Sec. of State in order to run - we only need 1 state to do this!

My sorry RINO Congressman (yes I’m talking about YOU, Tom Price!) hasn’t got the guts to ask, so I’m going to send Rep Posey an email thanking him for having the courage to stand up and not just “go along”.

Is Posey the “certain Republican” that will get you on the “militia” list if you support him?

The point here is that the WHOLE GOVERNMENT is in the tank on this. They want to be in total control of our lives and fortunes such as they are. It doesn’t matter, Pubbie or Dem, they all lust for the POWER!

WOW! Just contemplate what an out cry if 40-50 Republican Congressman demanded to show the birth certificate and continued to persist for proof! WOW! The Democrats would scream but this steadfast protest would be hard to ignore. How do you think this scenario would play out?

I just called Congressman Posey’s Washington office and thanked him for his bill and that I’ve written my Congressman asking him to at least support or preferably join in this effort.

We already know that the Ruling Class are above our laws. Laws are only for the worker slaves in order to keep us in line.

Every one on this board could compile a list of 35-40 government officals who should be in prison, but have never even been charged.

Just look at tax cheat Sec. of Tres.

Wow. What a concept!!!! We should ask our Presidential candidates to prove that their birth circumstances comply with our Constitution?

In reading the article, Rep. Posey isn't backing down. Good for him.
