The democrat base will turn on Oboma. They're not interested in working - anywhere, anytime. They like sitting home on welfare and doing nothing. If Oboma tries to force them into doing something, they're going to be pi$$ed! They vote democrat for the free ride. Take that away, and there's no reason to vote at all.
Oboma is targeting their kids, which they just use for more funding anyway, but it's still too close to home for them. If their kids can be forced into government servitude, they know they'll be next.

Look at the tax and spend targets that have already been established. The tax targets “just happen” to be of a certain demographic, while the recipients “just happen” to be of another certain demographiv.
In your post 54, I think it is less a case of Democrats wanting to do nothing and take a free ride than it is their anti-American stance and absolute opposition to anything resembling the military.
One of the reason that most military today are conservatives is the all-volunteer force. Only conservatives honor the obligation to serve their country. For liberals, America is a place to live, but they don’t have to like it and they certainly don’t feel obligated to serve it. This is why I think that his mandatory “Youth Corps” will go over like a lead balloon.
