Fans of American Idol might be disappointed that the show is being pre-empted for the prime time press conference President Barack Obama will be holding on Tuesday night, but most of us would probably rather hear more about the federal budget. That is, of course, what Obama will be speaking about before reporters start asking questions. The deficit, buying bad bank assets, and energy policies will likely be high on the list of issues he addresses.
The press conference will be held Tuesday, March 24 at 5:00 p.m. PST / 8:00 p.m. EST in the East Room of the White House. All of the major networks and cable news channels will carry it, and online coverage on CNN Live will begin at 4:45 p.m. PST / 7:45 p.m. EST.
It will be interesting to see if Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner's name comes up, as well as Energy Secretary Steven Chu. And with the Dow rising with the news of the bank assets plan it will also be interesting to see if an optimistic mood can be sustained. Finally, because some reporters can usually be counted on to ask a frivolous question, one wonders if Obama will be asked about his NCAA basketball picks.
49.5 million people watched Obama's first prime time press conference on February 9. Nearly 52.4 million people tuned in to Obama addressing a joint session of Congress on February 24. Stay tuned for tomorrow night's numbers. They may be a sign of how worried we are.
what is his problem. I don’t need to see him on TV every day.
So does Huffington Post get the first question?
1st question: What does Michelle plan to plant in your WH garden?
...most of us would probably rather hear more about the federal budget Absolutely! Why, just yesterday I was wondering, "What's up with the federal budget?" Also, I hope someone asks Obama about the Code of Federal Regulations. There hasn't been nearly enough prime-time coverage of Subparagraph 67, and virtually nothing about Appendix D. |
I predict he will announce his emergency program to socialize healthcare. It is the ONLY thing that will save the economy..he will say.
I personally look forward to yet another display of egotism and arrogance. Punch drunk and coked as he may be, it all serves to enlighten the public regarding this child in the white house playground.
Be funny if someone tripped over his teleprompter power supply now wouldn’t it?
His problem is that he is a narcissist and he is more interested in getting face time than solving anything. If he isn’t interviewing, he’s press conferencing and I have a feeling people are getting sick of him.
It was so so ok in the campaign because people understood it was an election. But he was SOOO everywhere in the campaign and people have an idea that once an election was over, you are supposed to go do your job. Not pop up and mess up their TV shows every week.
And Obama is SOOOO STUPID, his hatred of Fox Network overrides his judgement to recognize that he might hate Fox News, but more people watch American Idol than watch Fox News.
But of course that is just more example of his narcissism.
Yup - need another emergency NOW!!!!
Talk about a 1-trick pony.
Can’t wait to hear what he has to say.
I can't wait to not hear what he has to say.
My wife watches American Idol, and tells me that last week, Ryan made a snide comment about them being pre-empted for the President.
If it does he might make some sense.
Let me know if he says anything of importance, I won't be watching.
Will this numbskull be using the teleprompter?
Last we heard the 0bomos were going to put an LCD screen into the presidential podium to feed 0bomo numbers, information and gag lines
That is, of course, what Obama will be speaking about before reporters start asking questions.
After 60 minutes, I don’t think the muslim will be answering questions.
I cant even listen to this assclown anymore.
The Fox channel in DC Metro - and most especially its news broadcasts - is a slavish sycophant to Zer0. They were having Obamagasms the entire month of January and things have cooled down only slightly since then.
Certainly there never any hint of criticizing The President.
I’m sure glad I have a DVR. Instead of watching NCIS tonight I can watch House and keep my sanity.
Lets see now...
RUIN THE ECONOMY (what was left of it) NO PROBLEM
RUIN THE MILITARY ...NO PROBLEM
GET THE MASSES HUNTING DOWN EXCECUTIVES...NO PROBLEM
ALLOW LOBBYISTS IN CABINET..NO PROBLEM
ALLOW PORK TO CONTINUE .. NO PROBLEM
IGNORE ALL CAMPAIGN ‘PROMISES’...NO PROBLEM
PREMPT AMERICAN IDOL....BOY, YOU IS ON THE WAY OUT
What we really need is an emergency impeachment. I just heard he has been having seecret meetings with Gorbachov in the White House.
