I recall Liddy saying, “As a convicted felon, I do not have the right to own a firearm. Of course, Mrs. Liddy is well-armed, and if she chooses to keep her loaded revolver on my side of the bed, who am I to say no?”

Criminals will now dictate the freedoms allowed the law abiding.

If anyone needed any more proof that the foxes are running the chicken coop nowadays, look no further.

Not idiocy — APATHY AND COMPLACENCY among the law-abiding, decent folk the late Paul Weyrich (Paul invented the term) and Jerry Falwell used to call the “Silent Majority.”

Past time we started RAISING SOME HELL about things like this.

Every time I turn around, it is some other infringement of our rights being proposed by these people.

If I had my way, there would be swift and severe punishment for any elected representative or appointed bureaucrat who even proposed such obviously unConstitutional legislation or advocated same.

Everything seems so upside-down and bass-ackwards; we can't be far off now.

Criminals have been doing that for years now. It's just that they've never been convicted of anything. {;^)

Representative Bobby Rush (D-IL), a former Black Panther and a convicted felon whose illegal possession of firearms lost him his own right to own firearms

It really chaps my a$$ that guys (or gals) like this can even be CongressCritters.

Which is more dangerous, a single felon with a gun, or a felon making law at the federal level? I'd say the lawmaker. You can shoot the felon with a gun, if he does anything to deserve it, but unless he "serves" your district, you can't do jack shiite about a rogue Congressman.

It used to be if you were a convicted felon, you lost your right to vote for the rest of your life.

By default you still do, at least in some states. But you can petition a judge to reinstate it. Not so your RKBA, which by law must be restored by the BATFE (yea right), but also by law the BATFE cannot spend any money on restoring the rights of felons, so they don't.

Now, they hold office and sponsor legislation!!!!! Idiocracy!

Welcome to Bizzaro World.

That Nancy “Nutty” Pelosi has already urged that they move away from gun control because she remembers what happened to Democrats when bill Clinton tried this

She just opposes, tactically, gun control that Congress need to vote on. She has urged President Messiah to end imports of "assault weapons", including parts kits, and some ammunition. Pretty much 7.62x39, 5.56x41 and 5.54x39 and other "assault weapon" ammunition, including the 5.7x28 even if loaded with the non-AP bullets.

An import ban would tend to drive prices way up, making practice and plinking much less affordable.

Can a state, say, Ill., be forcibly ejected from the Union, sort of an involuntary secession?

Unfortunately, no. But we wouldn't want to do that anyway. Only the Northern section, in fact only Chicago and a few nearby counties. The rest of the state suffers from them far more than those of us in the rest of the country. But we can't do that either, since the Constitution, Art IV, sec. 3, forbids creating a state out of part of a state without permission from that state's legislature.

However Article IV, section 4, mandates (It says the United States "shall") that the United States guarantee to each state a Republican Form of Government, which clearly Illinois does not have. Nor do several other states whose urban dominated legislatutes have run roughshod over the rights of their minority rural and suburban citizens.

So it is possible that Something Could Be Done. If that is the Urban Machines did not also control the US Congress and Presidency.

West Virgina comes to mind.
