Bobby Rush, a former member of an organization known for killing police officers, doesn't want honest people to own guns
We have written here frequently about the importance of the Second Amendment in the defense of the United States against militant "Muslims" and other terrorists. Although militant "Muslims" feel free to perpetrate rampant violence and gang rape in Europe, these practices are far less frequent here because of the widespread private ownership of firearms.
Representative Bobby Rush (D-IL), a former Black Panther and a convicted felon whose illegal possession of firearms lost him his own right to own firearms, has proposed a bill to require licensing of all handguns and semiautomatic firearms (H.R. 45). Although he managed to receive an honorable discharge from the Armed Forces, his service record includes an incident of Absent Without Leave (AWOL). Bobby Rush is therefore just another common criminal and jailbird who resents the fact that law-abiding people can own the means with which to protect themselves from terroristic violence.
Then again, given Bobby Rush's own ties with the Black Panthers, perhaps he is sympathetic to terrorists of all stripes, not just militant "Islamic" ones. As Bobby Rush's former associates said, "The Revolution has co-ome, it's time to pick up the gu-un. Off the pigs! [Kill the police officers!]" Meanwhile, "From the fall of 1967 through the end of 1969, nine police officers were killed and 56 were wounded in confrontations with the Panthers." The United States does not need advice from a convicted felon and an associate of cop-killers to tell it how to reduce violent crime.

Obama’s mentor
It used to be if you were a convicted felon, you lost your right to vote for the rest of your life. Now, they hold office and sponsor legislation!!!!! Idiocracy!
Ummm... That's the point. They don't want anyone to be able to stop the reparations.
Future Candidate 2012 for the Democrat party I imagine.
Not for POTUS. The One will be up for reelection.
Bobby is a worthless piece of crap.
The effects of a felony conviction vary by state. Federalism and all that.
In some states, even imprisoned felons can vote.
Is this just based on the sponsorship of HR45, or is it in response to the weekend’s events in Oakland?
No, that is not accurate. Obama nearly derailed his political career by running against Bobby Rush in 1999.
There is no love lost between those two.
Well Said!
That’s teh equivalent of Al Sharpton stepping on Jesse Jackson’s turf.
I called Rush’s office in D.C. about his legislation. When I asked whether Bobby Rush, who used to be a Black Panther when they were known for carrying guns, thought that it was confusing for him to disarm americans. The woman who responded to me immediately said that this would help law enforcement, who favored the Bill.
She then asked whether Iwould be questioning this if I had a loved one who had been killed by a firearm. I responded that that had nothing to do with the proposed legislation. She slammed the phone down.
Bobby Rush is a hypocrite and a threat to every law abiding gun owner in this country. Basically is now a fascist and while he won’t get this piece of legislative garbage through Congress, his intention isclear.
That Nancy “Nutty” Pelosi has already urged that they move away from gun control because she remembers what happened to Democrats when bill Clinton tried this, suggests that Democrats under her control will not vote for this measure.
Rush is a fool for even proposing this piece of trash, but the people who vote for him in his district are the same one who voted for Obama. They are too ignorant to understand the implications of what Rush is trying to do.
No surprise. Criminals love gun control, and Rush is a convicted criminal.
Be that as it may, your statement that Bobby Rush was Obama's "mentor" just isn't accurate.
Perhaps.
Clinton pal Bobby Rush: I’m supporting Obama

Which came as a shock to many here in Chicago, given the fact that there is no love lost between Bobby Rush and Obama. Plenty of people plenty of candidates, but that doesn't create or denote a "mentor" status.
I'm not sure if you're still trying to argue that Bobby Rush is Obama's "mentor," but anyone familiar with Illinois politics would chuckle at that idea.
