I will let you know if they are still doing the wed Bangor protest. They actually had a teach-in this week of organizing in the Obama era.

San Pedro, Calif. corner of 1st and Gaffey.
Protesters had been meeting Friday evenings (usually a dozen or so) with the obligatory “out of Iraq” signs since the war began in 2003.
Although the meetings are still listed on the Pedro calendar of community events, I haven’t seen anyone there since the Øbama inauguration.
Proof that they don’t give a rat’s ass about Iraqis or our own “fallen.” It was all BDS.

They were never against the war, but against President Bush.

On January 24, 2009, after more than 6 years, the Peace Vigil in Potsdam took a break and went on "standby". Although American wars have not yet ended, Vigil participants agree that our newly elected president deserves a chance to end our conflicts and try to bring peace to the world. However, if there is not sincere and obvious movement toward peace, the Peace Vigil will return.

As far as I know...all three of the Anti-war Bush protestors on 23rd Ave in Greeley, Colorado, have failed to come out since the election of Obama as Pres ent.

In Freeport, IL, we had a very active group of appeaseniks called “People for Peace.” After determined counterpicketing and PR warfare by myself and other local patriots, they had a whole two people (both of whom were on the steering committee) show up for their monthly meeting in June of 2004. They have not been heard of since.

BTW Doc, I realize that my account doesn’t fall into what you’re looking for, but I couldn’t resist crowing over the demise of a vicious group of treason junkies. ;-)

The Tucson Weekly Wednesday morning "anti-war" protest is down to 1 or 2 of the most wacky.
Only this alleged veteran and 9/11 Truther shown above appeared last week. Years ago when asked why we shouldn't believe our own eyes that airliners crashed into the WTC, she replied to me they were probably remote controlled and with her military background, "she ought to know." The passengers were also "probably" on a remote island somewhere. (File Photo) |
"Semper Fraud" (shown above) gave a grand speech several weeks ago of how he will not be back as he has "better things to do." Ironically, "Semper Fraud" always bolstered our side by standing in our midst with a small obtuse sign unreadable by a passing car. It always made our side of the street look like we had more people! There used to be a bunch of moonbat old hippies dressed in all-black who would stand at the post office main square in Towson, Maryland, the county seat of Baltimore County, every Saturday around noon. (Baltimore County surrounds but does not administer Baltimore City.) The protesters aren’t there anymore, and their web site is shut down. “towsonantiwar.org”

WESTMINSTER: Expanding on BufordP's report, only Women in Black come out. This past Saturday there were only two. And as soon as the drizzle started, they surrendered 15 minutes early ran. The Carroll County Progressives web site is under going a rehab. Not sure what that is about.
While our numbers have not grown, they have not shrank. OLNEY: The Quakers occasionally muster about 9, but are usually around 5 or 6 of the hard core world peacers. This is down from their start in January '06 of 15 - 18 people from 2 groups and some locals.
The Quakers that protest have asked other Quakers to join them but without success. And the Olney area has a large Quaker presence with includes a Friends Meeting House and a Freinds school.
A while back, maybe '07, MOBilizing Mothers tried to have a protest every Saturday on different corners so we couldn't counter them. That lasted several months.
In contrast, we have grown from a regular 4 to 6-8 a week. The local Legionnaires held down the corner om March 21 while we were at Memorial Circle.
And Fred Phelps of Westboro Baptist church hasn't been seen in the D.C. area for several years. With PGRs and the lawsuit they lost in Maryland, they seem to have lost their appetite for us.
