radical turns = control problem

diving into the ground = control problem.

a good pilot would glide a plane with a dead engine as long as he could till he found a flat spot to try to put it down.

a pilot friend of mine calls twin engine planes doctor killers, because they dont keep up practice with them and when they do lose an engine, in the heat of an emergency, they forget all they were taught in putting down a lopsided flying plane safely.

of course this is a single engine plane.

another friend use to go up with a doctor friend in a nice single engine all the time. the doctor (without my friend aboard) flew down to visit his son at college and flew back at night in some weather and flew straight into a mountain.

Those are really reliable engines, I have a fair amount of time with the PT-6 in a couple different configurations, around 3500 hours , king air 90 and mainly 200.

I would think, off the top of my head over loaded and in a trim configuration the pilot wasn't prepared for..... if out of cg you can frankly run out of elevator and it can happen quickly as you configure to land.

I'll just wait and see what the NTSB report is.........God rest their souls.

A single-engine turbine airplane piloted by a professional crew would be infinitely more safe than a twin piloted by Dr. Bob...

Hunkering down will be the order of the day everywhere far too soon.

Dig in. Hunker down.

PRAY.
PRAY MORE!
