Former WABC radio news anchor George Weber was found dead inside his Brooklyn apartment this morning after failing to report to work for two days, sources told The Post. Weber, who would have turned 58 tomorrow, was discovered in his bed shortly before 10 a.m. today with multiple stab wounds to his neck after his bosses, concerned that he hadn't shown up for work, called cops. Police sources said they believed Weber had been murdered some time on Friday evening. "It's tough to imagine things like this happening in our neighborhood," said one neighbor, who did not identify himself. "It's really unsettling." There were no signs of forced entry, but a police source said the bathtub spigot was running and neighbors said the apartment had been ransacked. According to his web site, Weber was a news anchor for the talk radio station for about a decade, before he was let go last year. Since then, he has worked for ABC News, which provides national network news to stations across the country, including WABC. His blog contained an entry dated Friday, recounting several unpleasant encounters with bedbugs in his apartment, and lauding Mayor Bloomberg for setting up a Bed Bug Advisory Council last week. A source said police initially visited the building this morning at 1 a.m., but got no answer and did not want to break the door down. When they returned nine hours later, a neighbor guided them to a side door Weber kept unlocked.

Very tragic. Anyone within earshot of NYC knows George Weber. R.I.P.
This is sad news.
a neighbor guided them to a side door Weber kept unlocked.
In New York?
Crazy.
this sure is a very strange description of how and what police found.
Very sad.

George Weber? The Dudley Moore character in “10”?
Carrol Gardens is a pretty safe neighborhood, pretty close knit community.
Hey should have kept smoking.
what a drag. It is a tragedy.
Why would he keep an unlocked door in NYC???
he not hey.
What happened to noodles???
The bedbug thing kind of creeped me out, though.
I’m trying not to think about the dog/dogs, I think he had 2 dogs, but didn’t 1 pass away a few years ago?
I remember George Weber talking about Carrol Gardens. And talking about some stop smoking product he used and they advertised. Very sad.
multiple stab wounds
Obama I guess will order all knives to be registered now.
yeah Obama and Bloomers.
It really is a safe neighborhood, so I’m sure the residents are shocked. And I think he used a laser treatment to stop smoking? It was heavily advertised at the time he was on WABC.
Oh no. I loved hearing that guy. What a great voice for radio.
That’s terrible news. George Weber had a great radio voice.
