On January 19, 2009, I posted “Rick Rescorla: The hero Bush forgot” calling for the President to award him the Medal of Freedom or Congress to award him the Medal of Honor.

I am very glad that the Medal of Honor Society, a company of heroes, has taken the action that our elected leaders have not.
God bless Rick Rescorla, his widow Susan, and his family.
Rick Rescorla gave the last full measure of devotion, standing up to our enemies so Americans could live in freedom.
NEVER!
No that should be for troops in armed combat only.
what we need is something like this
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Cross
Two Crosses of Valour (CV - equivalent in stature to the Victoria Cross, but awarded for the most extreme courage that didn't take place in combat.
Four Stars of Courage.
Fourteen Bravery Medals.
Seventeen Commendations for Brave Conduct.
In additions, over 160 people, civilians and military were given Honours or Decorations in varying degrees for service above and beyond the call of duty in the aftermath of the disaster (including, for example, one American Doctor who provided emergency health care under very adverse conditions - Doctor Arthur Sorrell of Venice Beach, California) was made an Honourary Member of the Order of Australia.
If Bali, where 200 died could generate that many people worthy of recognition for their courage or service by the Australian government, how many heroes were there on September 11, worthy of recognition for theirs by the US government? Rick Rescorla is certainly one of them, but far from the only one.
NEVER FORGET
I pray that those angels have gone to watch over Rick's loved ones until Rick and his loved one's are joined together once again.
May God bless Rick Rescorla and his family.
And may God bless and protect our intrepid Troops who are in harms way for us today, tomorrow, and forever.
