If you want to be a jerk, I can’t stop you. I thought my request was respectful and reasonable.
I am a police officer here in CA, and this is hitting hard, especially since I have knowledge I can’t share here.
NOT BEING A JERK, If you are a cop there, show your outrage at the sanctuary! I was on a federal level. I respect your thoughts...but when will we at least eliminate the element that is not lawfully here?

Thoughts and prayers up from New Zealand, FRiend, to you and your brother officers. Thanks for your Service, and stay safe out there.
*DieHard*
Hang in there. Our prayers are with you all.
It is a sad day. Much too early to speculate about what happened. Details will come out when they will.
Thank you for your service and what you have shared on this thread.
Hang in there!
This is a tragedy for everyone. My heart goes out to the families and friends of the deceased officers. Thank you and all in law enforcement for doing a thankless, dangerous, necessary job. I hope you retire in happy old age without ever running across anybody like this cop killing idiot.

OK to this poster this sounds like you’re (not) saying one things, and it really can only be one thing.
Let me first say thank you for your service. Now my take on what you said:
I understand if I’m right, you can’t even answer.
The perp was ex-LEO?...
A question you might actually be able to answer. This Californian, has noticed society here seems to be unraveling. Things almost seem manic - for the first time since I’ve lived in California - I was actually shocked today by how people (not just one, but so many) were driving on the freeway.
I was genuinely worried a couple times.
California seems to be reaching some sort of tipping point.
It’s close now, at least it feels that way.
My son in law is a street cop in Hayward. Right next to Oakland. This is just so tragic...

Wow. My condolences on your losses.
Things may get to the point where this is more common rather than more rare.
Think long and hard about what you will to do if it starts to unravel.
It starts with another Waco type incident.
No need to reply now, sir. Just think about it.
I have no doubts you have knowledge about this that you can't share. And no doubts, that knowledge you have adds even more burdens to the sorrow you are already carrying. All police officers throughout CA are in my prayers, always have been, will continue to be.
Thank you for your service.
May the good Lord guard and protect all men and women who patrol our great country.
