Remove Cuyahoga Sheriff Gerald McFaul, GOP asks Gov. Ted Strickland (Cleveland Ohio)

Sheriff Gerald McFaul *Democrat (*=lvd added) .

Cuyahoga County Republicans have asked the governor to remove County Sheriff Gerald McFaul from office.

"The need for McFaul to resign or be removed from office is now painfully apparent, yet not a single elected county officeholder has called for McFaul to step down," Republican Chairman Rob Frost said in a news release. "If the governor or his fellow Democrats will not act, the people of this county must take action."

Frost called on Gov. Ted Strickland to remove McFaul for official misconduct.

UPDATE: Amanda Wurst, a spokeswoman for Strickland, said the governor has the authority to remove a public official from office. But she said Strickland is not ready to use it.

"In this particular case, a special prosecutor has already been called in and the governor does not want to interfere in that investigation," Wurst said.

McFaul, who has served as sheriff for 32 years, is under investigation by a special prosecutor for possibly obstructing justice. McFaul instructed a subordinate on how to dodge a subpoena so she would not have to testify against him in a 1986 sexual harassment trial.

The Plain Dealer reported last week that McFaul has come to the office only about one day a week for the past two years. McFaul said he worked from home on most of the other days, though he has bragged that he does not have a computer or know how to use one.

McFaul also laid off deputies this year while promoting friends and relatives.

"McFaul, who has served as sheriff for 32 years"

And that's the problem right there.

He needs to be removed from office and then removed to a dermatologist’s office.

McFaul is a demented old fool who should be dismissed even if he weren't also a corrupt 'rat-bastard..Local 'rats are trying to gin up sympathy for him by asserting that he is "sick' and has had a stroke and should be allowwd quietly to resign. Of course the 'rat county commissioners totally do NOT want investigation of McFaul to go forward, as they will all be found to be hip deep in sh*t.

Apparently there’s no crime going on in Cuyahoga County. Not even enough to keep the sheriff busy.

A GOP demonstration with torches and pitch forks is in order here. After all, the Dems are having ACORN harass AIG’s execs in NY, so they shouldn’t complain about a far more legitimate protest against a corrupt sheriff.

44 Officers Are Charged After Ohio Sting Operation

By PAM BELLUCK

In what may be the largest and widest ranging police corruption investigation in the country in recent years, 44 officers from five law-enforcement agencies were charged today with taking money to protect cocaine trafficking operations in Cleveland and northern Ohio, Federal authorities said.

The arrests were the result of a two-and-a-half-year Federal sting operation, which started out as an inquiry into organized crime in Cleveland, officials said. Along the way, investigators discovered a large ring of police officers and sheriff's department corrections officers who readily hired themselves out to be escorts and security guards for people they believed to be cocaine traffickers, but who were really undercover Federal agents.

In the process of the investigation, Federal agents got wind of a corrections officer for the Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Department, Michael W. Joye, who sold drugs to an undercover agent and indicated he would provide security, first for the smuggling of illegal gambling machines and then for drug deals, according to a 99-page affidavit. Officer Joye, the affidavit said, recruited 24 other officers and a deputy from the Sheriff's Department, and 18 from four regional police departments -- seven from Cleveland, three from Cleveland Heights, six from East Cleveland and two from Brooklyn -- to help out in the deals.

This will sound like Obama's resume' in 2 years.

It’s all W’S fault!!!!

This idiot is so protected it isn’t even funny. But in Ohio that is the status quo.

To wit.....

Hundreds of thousands(maybe into the low millions)continue to receive welfare benefits long after any time limits have expired. These people are just moved from 1 program to another so that they are never in any danger of losing benefits.......

Thanks to the SCHIP program, low income(no income)women will continue to bring babies we have to pay for without repricussion.......

As a result we in Ohio we:

Pay some of the highest state and local taxes in the nation.......

Have in Cleveland a proposed Medical Mart project that has one small problem, the owners of the Medical Mart don’t want to build in a city where hardly anyone works and those who do run to play after 2-3 hours of work. And the county leaders seen to do everything in secret too.....

Let’s say McFaul were sherriff in say Clairmount CountY and this happened. Before the news release is off the presses, his ass would have been shown the front door.

But not in Dennis Kucinichland......NOPE!!
