His appearance at the university would appear to violate the USCCB's policy against honoring pro-abortion politicians.
NOTRE DAME, Indiana (LifeSiteNews.com) - White House Secretary Robert Gibbs stated today that Obama will give the commencement address at Notre Dame University this year. The school confirmed the announcement, stating on its website that Obama will also receive an honorary doctor of laws degree at the University's 164th University Commencement Ceremony at 2 p.m. May 17 in the Joyce Center on campus.

How disgusting is that? I’m turning in my rosary beads.
Didn’t about half the US bishops support the abortion party in the 2008 presidential election? Sound’s like Notre Dame is with the Catholic program on this one.
Some catholics.I dont wonder why so many people in my family left the catholic church.
I would call them apostates, but I dont think they had anything to apostasize from.
I wish I could live way up in the ISS for the next 4 years....This is becoming a sick country.
That’s just wrong.
Of course, the root problem is that there aren't that many real Catholic Bishops left either. Some talk a good orthodox line, but "go along to get along" remains the rule.
Yes, and through the bishops' USCCB gave over a million dollars to ACORN to get out the vote for Obama.
Is there no sanity or belief in the sanctity of life left in the Catholic Church and Catholic Colleges in America? Notre Dame might as well give an honorary degree to Satan. I am more than appaled, I am truly sick at this action.

It's not only about abortion. Obama has made it very clear that in his new health care program he would appoint staff to look over all of the medical care that sick people and the elderly need, and if their health care costs too much, they will just let you die. I mean, after all, dying is part of getting old and sick people just have to accept the fact that they're going to die. For the common good, I suppose. As far as Obama is concerned, there is NO sanctity to human life. I would think the Pope would be outraged, just like we are!
This was a laity decision - not one made by the Church leadership. And it can also be a decision undone.
Do you know addresses for these folks? I think tons of personal letters would a lot more punch than emails. They’ll probably just delete them without reading.
No, that’s just what Jenkins and obama WANT you to do. Stop praying.
Why do I still call myself a Catholic? It’s almost like calling myself a Republican.
God is not mocked, there will be an accounting whether anyone believes it or not. Most everyone seems to be doing which is “...right in his own eyes” but the “Lord pondereth the hearts”. (*sigh*)
Pray for the aged, infirm, handicapped, unborn and partial born, for their protection for they have a fearsome advocate and He listens.
