Notre Dame invited President Barack Obama to do their commencement speech on May 17 -- and if they don't take it back, one pro-life leader says he's going to raise the masses in protest.
Since his first week in office, Obama has made a string of executive orders, appointments and policy decisions that contradict Catholic teaching of the sanctity of life, said Joe Scheidler, national director of the Pro-Life Action League, in a press release on Christian Newswire.
He's "the most pro-abortion president in U.S. history," according to Scheidler, who notes Obama's decision to dedicate federal funds to harvest embryonic stem cells for research, overturning conscience protections for healthcare workers, and appointing Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius to head the Department of Health and Human Services among Obama's sins.

Has any of the Catholic Bishops or Cardinals expressed their concern about the ABORTIONIST OBAMA coming to a Catholic University?
Nice Letter
I hope nothing I said was interpreted as letting Hesburgh off the hook. I don’t know what might have given you that idea.
McBrien’s is passe internally. He plays no real role within the Theology department (same for Dan McGuire at Marquette). Because of his public visibility, people think he’s the poster-boy for what’s wrong with Notre Dame. He was, 20 years ago. But he’s a joke, internally. Externally he wreaks havoc. But focusing one’s ire at Notre Dame on the presence of emeritus professor McBrien is misguided. The rot extends in big and little ways throughout the faculty (though, as I said, there are also some excellent, staunch, defenders and pactitioncers of Catholic thought, esp. in the theology department and law school but also in philosophy, liberal studies etc. and in para-departmental programs, e.g., the Center for Ethics and Culture.) I could name names of the good examples, but it’s best that I do not.).
Yes, I was aware that McBrien was forced out of the chair of the theology dept some time ago when things got too hot. And they had some wonderful people there like Ralph McInerny. But McBrien was very influential earlier.
I know some of the people in the English dept, and I’m not sure why they were chosen for a Catholic university.
Also, I suspect that they have been lucky in a few cases. They hired Aladair MacIntyre back when he was famous for having written some basically communist stuff. And then he got religion and wrote his best books while he was at Notre Dame. Which may be why they let him go. Of course, I don’t know that, maybe he just wanted to move to another part of the country. But his departure was a loss to them, IMHO.
Our Lady is weeping.
He just doesn’t want to punish anyone if they make a mistake. </sarc>
Very well put, Don-o!
I’m going to circulate to my pro-life friends.
We'll see how discontent the natives are after 2 years of this but we have too many idiot voters in this country.
I’m not a ND alum...I was poised to go there until my Dad told me it gets very, very cold there. As a child of the Sun I couldn’t go through with it!! But I am a Catholic and I am outraged....this is what I am writing in email and mailing on Monday to anyone I can find associated with Notre Dame:
Dear Sir or Madam:
Notre Dame is named for the Mother of God, a blessed woman who chose life and brought forth the Savior of the world.
Your decision to host at Commencement Barack Obama, a man who not only voted for, but strenuously advocated for a law which would prohibit saving the life of a viable aborted child, and in fact taking measures to hasten his or her death; a man who advocates the cloning of human beings for research purposes; a man who wishes to spread the culture of death and destruction worldwide through the use of taxpayer dollars; a man who has voiced his full support for unrestricted infanticide up until the moment of natural birth, is more than outrageous.
Words fail.
If you are unable to strip this person of your ill-conceived invitation, you need to consider stripping Our Lady’s name from your masthead, for She is surely weeping in Heaven tonight.
Respectfully, Gator Girl (obviously I will use my “real” name here!!)
Every Jesuit I’ve ever met was a bleepin’ lefty, Its high time thatthe entire order be purged from Holy Mother Church just like the heretical Templars were,
And here I thought it was known for football, hehehe.
On the other hand, if D’Arcy took down ND, he would be famous. Without the Cathoilic tag, the team would get invited to a bowl game about as often as Harvard is.
