Treasury seeks corporate bonus killers - Hiring 'executive compensation specialist'
Washington Times ^ | March 20, 2009 | Jim McElhatton

If you've got a knack for knowing how much is too much in Wall Street bonuses, then the Treasury Department could have a job for you.

As Treasury Secretary Timothy F. Geithner faced withering criticism for failing to root out big bonuses to executives at insurance giant American International Group Inc., the Treasury Department this week ran a couple of job ads that could help it avoid missing any more dubious payments.

Posted on a government jobs database Tuesday and Thursday, the ads seek applicants for the positions of executive compensation specialist and lead executive compensation specialist.

According to one ad, the duties of an executive compensation specialist include:

• "Recovery of bonuses, retention awards or incentive compensation paid to certain senior executives and other highly paid employees.

• "Limitations on senior executives' compensation that exclude incentives for taking unnecessary and excessive risks.

• "Prohibition on golden parachute payments to certain senior executives and highly compensated employees."

Treasury spokesman Andrew Williams said the ads had nothing to do with recent criticism of Mr. Geithner...

I don’t think that the U.S. Constitution gives the buffoons in the government the authority to do this.

This is so far beyond disgusting, it’s unbelievable. Now the media are releasing names and addresses of AIG employees (some are execs, some are worker bees) so that they can receive death threats, so that angry mobs can stand outside their doors. This is mob rule, folks. Meanwhile, the FNM/FRE folks are expressing dismay that these bonuses are or might be subject to clawback. They wrote the bill that provided for the bonuses, but couldn’t be troubled to read it. This is just sick.

So, the Treasury wants to "jump your bonus"? If they're going to make executive compensation a "bonus of contention", then you can say "bonus dias" to capitalism.

Obama is "bad to the bonus." Literally.

The socialists in Congress and the White House will not stop with positions included in the job description. It is a test to see how public reaction. They will eventually expand this to include all occupations and pay levels if they don’t receive enough negative reaction.

If any of the recipients of these bonuses are actually stupid enough to give them back, the IRS will still tax them. “Constructive receipt,” doncha know.

“I don’t think that the U.S. Constitution gives the buffoons in the government the authority to do this.”

It probably doesn’t, but the IRS has in the past (under the direction of Congress) passed seemingly arcane rules changing tax treatments, mostly forward looking but also some retroactively. Point being, any AIG employee who wished to challenge this would have to mount a legal attack at considerable expense, even though attorneys’ fees would ultimately be recoverable if they prevailed. And the current mobocracy being created would present a serious degree of public opprobrium against these folks.

The socialists in the White House and Congress want to destroy the Constitution.

Bill Clinton the self-made man? w/help from Chelsea Clinton the hedge fund rainmaker? And Hillary the real estate and commodities whiz?
Jamie Gorelick?
Robert Rubin?

Folks, what we now have as the head of this country is a man much more dangerous than Hitler, Mussolini, and Stalin combined. While he may not take as many lives in one fell swoop, he will steal many, more lives and futures than them.

This is for REAL?? Not satire?? Government bureaucrats, undoubtedly with no business experience whatever deciding corporate compensation. Well, if we can have a completely unqualified White House sitter, why not, huh? Anybody with an idea above a duck not yet frightened by what is going on in this country had better snap out of the coma and start paying attention. We are in friggin deep trouble.
