The first appearance by a sitting president on "The Tonight Show" may well end up being the last.
President Obama, in his taping with Jay Leno Thursday afternoon, attempted to yuk it up with the funnyman, and ended up insulting the disabled.
Towards the end of his approximately 40-minute appearance, the president talked about how he's gotten better at bowling and has been practicing in the White House bowling alley.
He bowled a 129, the president said.
"That's very good, Mr. President," Leno said sarcastically.
It's "like the Special Olympics or something," the president said.
When asked about the remark, the White House said the president did not intend to offend.
"The president made an off-hand remark making fun of his own bowling that was in no way intended to disparage the Special Olympics," White House deputy press secretary Bill Burton said. "He thinks the Special Olympics is a wonderful program that gives an opportunity for people with disabilities from around the world."
Facing tough questions about the performance of his Treasury Secretary, $165 million in bonuses for AIG officials and anticipating a fight over his $3.55 trillion budget, the president has not had a particularly good week, and it's unlikely this will help matters.

Sorry, I just didn’t like the movie Forrest Gump. It seemed silly and patronizing to mentally handicapped people. Just my opinion.
It showed that courage and integrity and loyalty were more important than most of the elitist things that society wants us to think are even more important.
Bunch of sharecroppers living in the White House. First they put in a playgorund, then the sharecropper’s wife is going to have the lawn cut up to put in vegetables and this jerk spends time in the basement bowling. He spent $37,000 an hour to fly out to California to appear on a talk show and disparage innocent people with Downs Syndrome. Has America gone off its rocker?
Sarah Palin talked about the Special Olympics in early March per Rush.
“The Brain that Wouldn’t Die,” except where’s the Brain?
Kanya west said the Bush Hated Black people This is Just my take on President Hussien If it offended you Im sorry
Glenn Beck has a daughter w/a handicap. I’m watching him on Fox at 5 to see if he mentions the shameless gaffe by the phony prez.
I think most freepers were personally offended by this comment, being retarded themselves.

I remember that MST3K. The disembodied head that didn’t need lungs to speak....she had “neck juice.”
Bowling isn’t the only thing Obama is bad at.
It's likely that Bambi will make so many politically-incorrect statements against the disabled, gays, etc, that the media will have to eliminate the sanctions against political incorrectness.
Obama says that we shouldnt encourage smart students to become Investment Bankers we(Govt) need young people to decide to be....engineers.. doctors, teachers. Reward those kind of things that make things and makes peoples lives better
According to Obama the average American pays 30% interest on their Credit Card. He also indicated that Gov't must do something about that. I wonder what that will be and how credit may be affected?
Obama effectively said the best and the brightest should no longer expect rewards and that their sense of entitlement must be extinguished in our culture. He is demonizing the best and brightest. He's mocking acheivers and risk takers. He also turned around the entitlement argument on those who actually WORK. It's as if those who work are the bad guys.
Obama says "to make sure that before somebody makes a bad bet you(the Government)say hold on, you can't do that." Obama intends to remove risk from the bedrock of Capitalism. What is Capitalism without risk?
Oh yeah and he totally caps this all of with a dig at Special Oylmpics.
That's a very good point...... :)
Why thanks for your opine..... I love this woman & would love to see her as POTUS "as is".....
Good ol’ Ann. I love her and agree with everything she says — and how she says it. Some day I hope to see her as POTUS Press Secretary. That is if we ever again have a POTUS instead of a dictator.
