I was getting all set to post something about how this bill didn't actually require mandatory service and it was just funding volunteer programs (as if spending more money was a good thing, but thats another argument), but then I went back and had a good read of the article, and of the bill and there's really no other interpretation you can get out of it. This is pure Fascism.

I was just reading some more sections of the bill. Cannot believe some of the language. Lookie here: (c) Special Consideration- To the extent practicable, the Corporation shall give special consideration to applications submitted by predominantly Black institutions, Historically Black Colleges and Universities, Hispanic-serving institutions, Tribal Colleges and Universities, and community colleges serving predominantly minority populations.

I saw that part, I think its more or less standard boilerplate nowdays, even if it is rampant racism.
