This article is the worst pile of Catholic bashing tripe I have seen in some time. The comments are also generally vile, and IMHO probably reflect the moral caliber of the ComPost's remaining readership.

Let's start a movement within the Catholic Church to impeach Pope Benedict XVI and remove him from office. While we're at it, let's replace him with a woman.

And while were at it, let's start worshipping Thor!

And while were at it, let's start worshipping Thor!

And kick it off by getting hammered!

“Let’s start a movement within the Catholic Church”

nobody’s forcing anyone to be catholic and follow the pope.

This thread needs a “barf alert” warning. I at first thought an anti-Catholic zealot had posted it.

What? it’s certainly true. The Post can’t see how much misery this religion has unleashed on the world-all corners of the world. Baptist go radical, they might open a mission or sing off key (Oh no). Muslims who (not all of course) are kind of born again blow up planes and stone women to death, massacre unbelievers in Africa. It never ends.

No, he's not. A Catholic would understand the church's teachings on these things and accept them as faith and doctrine.

The bible makes it very clear that men are to lead; in the church and in the home.

The writer of this article needs to find a new age assembly of no god feel good cause everyone's going to heaven kind of church - aka, a church not founded on the BIBLE.

Um, there is nothing stopping this whiner from leaving the catholic church and picking another denomination.

When I first started reading this I thought it was satire. But, no, it's just the customary bleatings of an anti-Catholic writing in the ever so Catholic friendly WaPO.

Ah, sir, the Pope is the head of the Catholic Church, not you, and if you are dissatisfied in any way with what the Church or the Pope are saying, then buzz off and don't let the sacristy doors hit thee in the posterior on the way out.

Now when is the WaPO going to publish a story by this self-appointed Pope about the Church Obama attended, using some of the more colorful quotes of Da Revrund Wright? And then pose the $64 question to his Lordship: why didn't you leave that church earlier?

I am a Catholic and the idea that such a man is God's spokesperson on earth is absurd to me.

I am a Catholic and the idea this newsweak scribbler takes it upon himself to second guess the entire college of cardinals is absurd to me...

Yeah your right CINOES have been all over the MSM/Radio bashing Gods Church and our Rep. Pope Benedict.

The virtue of chasity (in reference to the condom issue) or in the sactity of a non adultrous marraige is a realistic obtainable goal.

What CINOs of the world do not want to face is there own lack of will to live a life that give revercance to the Lord.

BTW I cannot recommend enough for all to tune into EWTN and LISTEN to the message the Pope and missionaries of Africa are giving Live right now (these next few days).

Pope Benedict is meeting with those of the Muslim faith today.

That should be a very gracious on his behalf deliverance of words as the Rep for Gods Roman Catholic Church.

And that is this CINO-Writers argument.

He is trying to convince readers that condoms work when getting hammered.

Yeah, wish more could understand that the Church is a community of faithful, not an ethnicity. If you do not share the faith, then you are not one. Either you believe or you leave. Not trying to sound discriminatory, but why are so many nonbelievers so obsessed with our community?
