First Family To Plant White House Veggie Garden
The Note ^ | March 18, 2009

ABC News' Brian Hartman Reports: President Obama's latest shovel-ready project is close to home -- in fact, right in his own yard. In an effort to promote healthy eating, the first family will be planting a vegetable garden right on the White House grounds.

ABC News' Ann Compton and Sunlen Miller report that the new White House vegetable garden will be dug up and planted on the South grounds of the White House -- near the fountain but out of view of the main house.

Though the 16-acre complex is maintained by the National Park Service, one worker who preferred to remain anonymous assured ABC News that National Park Service staff won't do the sowing and planting. The White House residence staff will handle that.

"(Geez, I can’t remember the name of those disgusting slimy little green pickle like things from the South, that are totally pukeable!)"

Ahhh ... I see you've had okra! LOL. Actually, breaded and pan-fried it is very good and you simply can't make a good gumbo without it. I did plant a variety last year that wasn't really slimy at all. I was surprised.

Their “staff” will do all the work and they’ll take all the credit. What losers!

“A garden requires a lot of care and I bet it gets nurtured by Barack and Michelle’s serfs.”

***Actually, the residence staff will take care of it, according to the article. Maybe BO will “water” it on occasion.

Yes, Grammy, that is so funny it is not funny!!!

So, let’s all send them a couple of tea bags, and maybe some coffee grounds, and ask them to grow these for “hurting” Americans. They have no idea where these grow or what is involved.

Maybe we should send some beans to them, for his children’s future.

I can’t wait to see the pics of Michelle and the girls in the garden.

I wish for once the WH staff would tell Obooombi & his man-wife beast to blow it out their ass, if they are ordered to till & plant & maintain the garden for Obooombie & his man-wife.

If this had happened during ANY Republican administration but especially GW Bush, the media & demoRATs would be howling in derision & feigned outrage at Bush for "coercing" WH employees to serve as "plantation workers".

This is pathetic. The Park Service may not do the planting but they’ll do everything else, it’ll be the most expensive vegetable garden in the country.

Now when it comes to okra, this is a Southern thing, and I’ll stand by you when you defend it.

I like it breaded in cornmeal and fried. But my husband and I draw the line when it comes to boiling it. He likes it in his gumbo, and boiled with tomatoes.

Since I make the roux, I am in charge. I don’t add it in my gumbo (LOL).

How are you? Hope you are over the problems with the Lymes.

Perhaps he is beginning to feel the anger of the peons, and since having a food taster would look bad, he is planting a garden instead.

They should till up the whole lawn and plant cotton. They could make their own cloths.
