Attorney General Eric Holder is using the drug violence in Mexico to "confuse and mislead" Americans in an attempt to reinstate the expired federal assault weapons ban, gun advocates say.
Get ready for a gunfight.
Holder revealed his intention to reinstate the ban last month while announcing more than 700 arrests in connection with a crackdown on Mexican drug cartels operating in the United States.
"As President Obama indicated during the campaign, there are just a few gun-related changes that we would like to make, and among them would be to re-institute the ban on the sale of assault weapons," Holder said. "I think that will have a positive impact in Mexico, at a minimum."
Holder said reinstating the ban would decrease the flow of guns from the U.S. into Mexico. He declined to offer a timeframe for any re-implementation; Justice Department spokesman Matt Miller also declined comment on Tuesday.
But Wayne LaPierre, executive vice president of the National Rifle Association, told FOXNews.com that Holder's "argument in general is bizarre."
"It's a delusion to say that diminishing the Second Amendment in America is somehow going to stop these ruthless drug cartels in Mexico."
LaPierre called on Holder and Justice Department officials to uphold existing laws and focus on increasing enforcement along the 2,000-mile U.S.-Mexico border, rather than consider additional legislation...

I guess that if all these laws are imposed, only criminals and politicians will be armed while the law-abiding citizens will be sitting ducks ready for the plucking.

Damn right! If the Liberal Messiah, and His apostles, want to legislatively repeal the Second Amendment, then the answer will be mass civil disobedience. Let them try to conduct mass arrests. It would be one more major step toward either a Second Civil War or Second American Revolution. Part of me hopes the Liberals/Socialists/Communists (a.k.a., Democrats) try to pull this off.
Eric Holder can go suck a lemon. Does he really think that these Mexican creeps, or their American counterparts, skulk around American gun shows looking for private sellers?
They backed down over the fired brass destruction in less than a week after it came to light.
Politicians live to get reelected, voting for this type of legislation can be a career ender.

Remember that we outnumber the liberal wimps in both numbers and guns...if they want to pick a serious fight, guess who will win...the real Americans, not the liberals.
Keep stocking up like the rest of us...it sends three messages, (1)we don’t like what is going on in Washington (2) we are getting prepared to stop what is going on in Washington and (3)it scares the shit out of the liberals that we are buying guns and ammo in such huge quantities. And it should...especially when my little 5’2” wife tells me that she is so concerned about what the Obama commies are doing, that she wants her own Glock with a laser sight and tons of ammo for it. She is not a gun enthusiast, but she is afraid of losing our freedom at the hands of our first RED president.
