The leader of the nation's largest veterans organization says he is "deeply disappointed and concerned" after a meeting with President Obama today to discuss a proposal to force private insurance companies to pay for the treatment of military veterans who have suffered service-connected disabilities and injuries. The Obama administration recently revealed a plan to require private insurance carriers to reimburse the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) in such cases.
"It became apparent during our discussion today that the President intends to move forward with this unreasonable plan," said Commander David K. Rehbein of The American Legion. "He says he is looking to generate $540-million by this method, but refused to hear arguments about the moral and government-avowed obligations that would be compromised by it."

Plus they will have to pay income tax on the premiums for their private insurance paid for by civilian employers.
What a charming and wonderful Commander In Chief.
This alone should promote a march on Washington. America needs to show support of our Military and shut this President down.
This has gotten a lot of publicity and it probably won’t go anywhere.
But it has definately hurt Hussein 0bama.
Is it April 1 already?

OUTRAGEOUS!
OUTRAGEOUS!
WHERE IS OUR OUTRAGE?
WE ARE A NATION OF GRUMBLERS AND NO GUTS!
SHAME!
SORRY. I’M ANGRY.
If Obama would speak the truth: “Let me be clear, I hate the military!”....
I’m outraged but also looking at the positive side. When the Revolution begins, and it will eventually, Obama has just insured that the military is on the side of the rebels.
You know it's pretty bad when Jon Stewart rips Obama for it on The Daily Show.
“But it has definately hurt Hussein 0bama.”
Obama wouldn’t understand. He hates the military and probably can’t understand that most Americans support the military.
This is the way to really dismantle a volunteer force. Make it so financially punishing that no one would bother.
The outrage hasn’t happened yet because he hasn’t really pushed for it and it’s just “talk” right now.
This is fight that this man will loose. I dare him to try and pull this crap...Come on Obama, try it and see what happens.
No, that’s what we don’t need. But there should be considerable discussion about it. Phone lines should be burning about this issue.
I think he understands perfectly. If he forces private carriers to pay for this, all of our insurance will go up and there will be greater demand for government insurance, which he wants. Plus, he hates America and everything it stands for, it seems. We need a military and he wants to insure that there will be no volunteers in the future. What better way to accomplish that goal than pull a stunt like this? Obama is a VERY dangerous man.
You need to learn some guidelines before you start flapping your gums via the keyboard, gomer.
Well how about ALL of the dead-assed government employees, including the Congressional royalty pay for their OWN medical expenses as well.
