the rest of the chapter goes on to say that there was trouble all around the globe, as if this were just one flareup.

Well, that's the truth. 9-11 was just one (albeit the worst) incident in a long line of terrorist attacks on the US and its allies.

Suppose that's what the textbook meant? :-)

I can't keep up with all the tea parties.

Real political movements have pamphlets and tables where books and political buttons can be bought.

LS, you could help nurture this - maybe write some pamphlets that could be handed out - help pick out books that could be sold.

Design a political button or two...

Larry has been doing these segments with some regularity and they are excellent.

My daughter had a textbook that called Chiang-Kai-shek by another name - Jie-Shi Jiang

I always wondered why.

Tawain changed their Romanization method at the beginning of the year.

I think Jie-Shi Jiang is backwards, because Jiang/Chiang is the family name and should be first in Chinese. The Jie-Shi vs. Kai-shek is a Mandarin vs. Cantonese difference.

However most of that is from the Wikipedia article on him, so take it with a grain of salt.

Long time, no exchange.
Good to hear from you again.

Keep up the good work.

Been busy. Spoke to Young America’s Foundation Sat., did two Fox hits in five days, two other speeches, plus I’m getting to interview Golden Age rock and rollers for my next book—so I talked to Alice Cooper last night, Felix Cavaliere of the Rascals last week, Mark Stein of Vanilla Fudge before that, and the Doors next week.
