The Kabuki Theater of AIG Outrage

All the world's a stage, wrote Shakespeare, and in the world of Washington, the curtains have opened on the most elaborate farce of the year. Welcome, taxpayers, to the Kabuki Theater of AIG Outrage -- where D.C.'s histrionic enablers of taxpayer-funded corporate bailouts compete for Best Performance of Hypocritical Indignation.

Over the weekend, cloaked in their finest populist costumes, the Beltway's hair-sprayed and powdered politicians and White House aides took to the airwaves to inveigh against $165 million in employee retention payments made by the government-backed insurance giant. Those bennies were reportedly part of a larger $450 million round of bonuses. After subpoenaing AIG, New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo informed Congress that 73 employees in the very division responsible for the financial meltdown received bonuses of $1 million or more -- 11 of whom left the company after getting the cash to retain them.

The checks were mailed Friday, but the March 15 bonus deadline had been on the Capitol Hill radar screen since December

AIG I knew they’d fail as far back as 2004.

Now, they are a very convenient smoke screen and distraction. People are sooo caught up, they’ll never see what is happening under the radar, on the back page of the paper. I suspect, AIG is going to be the last punching bag in the story of the greatest heist mankind ever has seen. The next outrage will come, after the dust settles, and the con will have been perfectly executed. Well, it will keep a good number of lawyers employed for decades to come, and the “victims” can cry there wittle eyes out on tv, and be made sorry for. Me, I will laugh at the victims, because they and their agents were the cheaters and frauds, just like AIG. As you might tell, I’m ready to cackle in glee... I’ll come back and explain after the defuncto. I may be Bald but I’ll Win. Hey, it’s an Executive’s Life!

Absolutely right!

AIG is nothing more than the taxpayer money laundering machine for the "new" and "hopeful" government.

I've gotta admit...it's a change...but not so much the "change" I wanted.

It's good to see someone who was so nice to me when I first signed up...BM...Before Mods. ;o)

One of these MSNBC people said there ought to be somebody in charge of TARP $ and failed to note; Vice President Joe (Amtrak) Biden is supposed to be the ***Sheriff*** in charge pf TARP $.

Jonathan Turley, ***Constitutional Law Professor***, Georgetown University, in response to question about the legality of taxing the AIG bonuses at near 100%,told Keith Olberman he asked lots of people on Capitol Hill for the answer.

Wasn’t Barack Obama a ***Constituttional Law Professor?***

Sheriff Biden, whats the number?

Due to recent events, ALL BAILOUT LEGISLATION should be suspended until further notice until due diligence can be applied to said law. Then they can be discarded altogether if no viable oversight can be determined - the Federal Government doesn't count.

Drudge is reporting that Zero received a $100K campaign contribution from AIG. Where’s the MSM outrage about that?

So don’t you all be bettin’ the Feds won’t kick you in the ass.
You’ve been a splendid bailout basket case, but enough is enough.
We’d take it very kindly AIG if you’d all just bugger off!

Chorus

Here’s to all the bankers and lawyers who’ve been servin securitized beers,
and puttin up their knoxious greed and their stupid drunken schemes.
So leave your money on their table when you go,
tomorrow you’ll have a sorry head and nothin left to show

Here’s to all them bailout bag ladies who might be waitin with pans in their hands,
and thinkin one of them might make a charmin one night stand.
Please don’t be offended girls this song is not for you.
Uncle Sam will be happy to oblige you to get this nasty job through.

Chorus

So Timmy G you’ve been promisin these bailout bag ladies a night of lovin bliss,
but truth be told your far to drunk on bailout swill to stand up straight and piss.
So give it up you lousy sod you’ll not be gettin laid.
and the sooner that you’re out the door the sooner Uncle Sam will get repaid.

Chorus

So bugger off, you Wall Street bastards bugger off! (Fook Yu!)
Bugger off, you deadbeat bastards bugger off! (Fook Yu!)
Like a herd of fooking swine that refuse to leave the trough
You’ll get no more this evening so you bailout bastards bugger off

Good memory, I’m not here much these days. But, if Obama keeps acting like a dunce, maybe I’ll come more often!
