Now, if you don’t care if Republicans ever get into the majority, you have every right to believe that way but if we’re ever going to get in the majority, we need every number we can get.

So basically, what you are working towards is simply giving the Republicans a majority...but to what end? It's a very important question that all Freepers should stop trying to dodge or evade. To what ends do we commit ourselves? Is it just power or is it conservatism?

The Republican Party held a majority for nearly six years. The Party effectively controlled all three branches of the Federal government and...how exactly did its actions further the cause of limited, Constitutional government? [The answer is that its actions didn't.] There was little to no actual reform of the tax code, public education still sucks, the U.S. is bogged down in multiple wars, debt is skyrocketing, Government at all levels consistently violates the Constitution...and hell, the Republican Party even created a new Federal agency and bloated the size and cost of Government! And, to top it all off, despite holding a majority, the Republicans negligently failed to rein in the Democrats, and it turns out that all that wonderful economic growth was all just pie in the sky.

You should take note that I am not a Republican. I used to be one until I discovered that the Party, on the whole, only cared to honor me and to adhere to conservative principles when it needed my money and my vote. As a result, I don't care whether the Republican Party lives or dies, so long as it gets the hell out of my way. I do, however, care about folks who are sincere and genuine about promoting limited, Constitutional government, regardless of their political affiliations.

Fine. I agree with that but where else will you get what you want outside the Republican party? You're not going to. Work inside the Republican party. That is your only choice. It's still a numbers game. Conservatives must outnumber the RINOs. Nothing will change that fact.
