La Shawn Barber would be a better RNC chairman than Mr. Steele IMHO.

RNC — more of the same. Forget it.

You got that right!

I miss LaShawn's political bloging and the comments section she had.

Unsolicited advice for Steele: Stay out of the spotlight and get to work!

Unsolicited advice for Steele: Quit calling yourself a Republican -- you're embarrassing us!

At one time, I would have called for Steele to be removed immediately.

Now, it appears that the Republican Party is self-destructing and a new conservative party should be formed.

Steele may not be the worst person in the world, but he embodies much of what
has been wrong with the Republican Party FOR YEARS, and is EXACTLY the kind of person who is NOT NEEDED to nudge this Party in a new and very necessary direction.Sorry to say, I can’t help coming to the conclusion that, yes, he’s a token black, handpicked by the still-tepid Republican Establishment,
who are not beyond doing such calculating and transparent things.
And it’s not as if no one saw it coming; he’s been a talking head on Fox for years, with no other credentials than his AG ones: in the same way we expected Clinton and Obama to be the official nominees because they were picked to deliver the Dem Convention Keynote speeches, Steele was being floated before our eyes for this job for nearly as long a time.

Steele is the final nail in the RNC coffin. Good riddance. It might take decades to recover. But who, even among us wants to vote for a “Republican” any more? Blame W. And blame Steele took W's back.

I sent a questionnaire back to the rnc with ZERO dollars in it and told them that steel needs to resign and that the gop needed to embrace Reaganism and Reagan's view of America and work to create that great “Shining City on a Hill” that Reagan loved. I also told them no $$$ until the rat steele is gone.

Maybe Steele, whom I liked, should’ve read the job description before he applied. His primary job is to raise money and rebuild party infrastructure. So far, all he does is go on TV and make gaffes.

First off, no Republican leader should be doing interviews for a Metro-queer mag like GQ at this point in time.

I mean, does he honestly think he’s going to win over that crowd?

His best bet is to step down, and preferably change parties.

Could Steele possibly be a “plant” from the other side?

A “Manchurian” candidate if you will. Send to destroy what is left of the GOP?

"Why do you think so few nonwhite Americans support the Republican Party right now?"

"‘Cause we have offered them nothing!

Really? Then how come he is the head of the RNC? What part is missing here...Hasn't he looked in the mirror lately?

Of course with those comments I can see where he isn't supporting the party either.

Why do you think so few nonwhite Americans support the Republican Party right now? ‘Cause we have offered them nothing! And the impression we’ve created is that we don’t give a damn about them or we just outright don’t like them. And that’s not a healthy thing for a political party.

Steele thinks the Republican Party should coddle (= feed BS to) blacks to 'show' that they are 'liked', sort of like the 'Rats do. Put another way, appear to give them preferential treatment, but really take advantage of them and screw them over. Steele apparently wants Republicans to share white guilt about Democrats messing them over. These are all bad things, in case Steele hasn't figured it out. Maybe Steele should try to assimilate that the Republican Party is a party of ideas and equality, not of guilt, racism and conflicting special interests.
