I too have Prostate Cancer, but I am MUCH younger than Imus. I KNOW what he is about to go through, and the cloud that will follow him through every facet of his awake time. God bless you Mr Imus....You are in my prayers....Find a good surgeon, have the robot RP, maybe the radiation, and meds....Good luck.

How old are you? I’m 41. I’ve been wondering if I should start getting tests for it, and how to go about doing that. Sorry to hear you have it, here’s to a full recovery. Good luck.

Your doc can order blood tests, and specify PSA testing.
The PSA number, as it rises, indicates a potential problem.
Your age now is a good time to establish a baseline for future monitoring.

When I used to listen to Imus, I noticed that he talked about his health constantly. He usually went to a variety of doctors and mentioned their names. Imus has a son, Wyatt, who is only 11 years old, and I’m pretty sure he once called Rush Limbaugh ‘a fat, pill-popping loser.’

I had prostate cancer and had successful surgery but I'm a lot younger and better general health than Imus. Imus has the best doctors money can buy on speed-dial. I'd be surprised if they didn't catch it right away.

Yes, get tested. I know several men who were diagnosed around age 50.
You can live a long and healthy life without a prostate and there are medicines that can help with the side effects of not having one.

Imus was a HUGE cocaine user for decades and explains his health problems over the years and the way he aged.

Excellent advice. That plus the annual brief physical exam will note any problems early on ... and this one is very successfully treated if caught early.
