Euro chiefs ban 'Miss' and 'Mrs'
The European Parliament has banned the terms 'Miss' and 'Mrs' in case they offend female MEPs.
By Simon Johnson 15 Mar 2009
The politically correct rules also mean a ban on Continental titles, such as Madame and Mademoiselle, Frau and Fraulein and Senora and Senorita.
Guidance issued in a new 'Gender-Neutral Language' pamphlet instead orders politicians to address female members by their full name only.
Officials have also ordered that 'sportsmen' be called 'athletes', 'statesmen' be referred to as 'political leaders' and even that 'synthetic' or 'artificial' be used instead of 'man-made'.
The guidance lists banned terms for describing professions, including fireman, air hostess, headmaster, policeman, salesman, manageress, cinema usherette and male nurse.
However MEPs are still allowed to refer to 'midwives' as there is no accepted male version of the job description.
The booklet also admits that "no gender-neutral term has been successfully proposed" to replace 'waiter' and 'waitress', allowing parliamentarians to use these words in a restaurant or café.

Why are women offended by being referred to as women?
Ok, I now understand how stupid the EU really is..lol.
From the article - “However, a number of bizarre EU rules remain in place, including a directive stating that every pair of rubber boots must be supplied with a user’s manual in 12 languages.”
A freaking owners manual for rubber boots? Who is stupid enough to not be able to put on rubber boots without a users manual? Only in Europe. And of course I won’t even touch the rules trying to dictate the shape of a banana...too many jokes there.
"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." - Manuel II Palelologus
No, it's Newspeak from "1984."
You wouldn't want them to freely express themselves.
If you can control language you can control behavior.
You can also minimize the lessons and relevance of history.
Do men still get to be called Mister, Monsieur, Signor, Herr, or not?
Well, since Brussels is in Europe .... :-)
LOL! However, to be grammatically correct it would be "Asshat" and "Asshata".
The word, gender, was inappropriately extended by linguistic activists for referring to more than two sexes in human beings.
Gender is for Latin language terms and flowers. Sex is for people.
This type of stuff is why I hate the politics of the liberals in Europe. this is what you get when things are left to them. There is no such thing as nature to them only their world view.
More PC insanity.
Just a taste of the facist lunacy of the EUSSR.
Because a dyke probably complained saying being refered to as a Miss or Mrs was insulting, the PC police listened, so the entire free world now needs to suffer.
If I was a MEP, I would refuse to respond to anyone who did not address me as Mrs. Knid. Madame Knid will work too. So would Senora Knid. MS. Knid will not work. I would simply fail to hear it.
Oh, and my husband’s a policeMAN, too.
Regards,
Impy says the EU should be referred to as “fermented horse feces” from now on.
Just another example of Lemmings heading for self annihilation.
No Mrs. or Miss?
How about just Female? i.e., Good morning Female Jones or Good afternoon Spinster Thompson. Or is she’s muslim, Put the burka back on slave.
I recommend referring to Europeans as “future Muslims.”
... and replace “man-hole cover” with “people hole cover.”
