My late Brother In-Law battled Esophageal Cancer for six years. He lost the battle when the cancer came back and was found in his liver.
He had his entire esophagus removed and his stomach was reshaped as a replacement. He had the surgery after a brutal month of continuous Chemo and Radiation treatments.
He lived for over five years with that situation.
His surgeon was and is a miracle worker. He is the guy that takes the last chance cases.
My sympathies to the Silver Family. I saw close up and personal what Ron and his family had to endure.
I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

I am shocked and deeply saddened. Conservatism has lost a great voice.

Rudy Giuliani being mayor of NYC completely changed his political outlook. Ron Silver’s one and overriding concern was the safety of his parents in NYC. When he saw what Rudy was doing with law enforcement in the city, Silver gradually extrapolated what would happen if those policies happened nationwide.
9/11 completed his conversion.
He was a good man and a good actor and I will miss him.

Oh no!
I loved that man even before he came over to our side. He's missed already.
Sincere Condolences to his dear family. RIP, Ron.

Aw, nuts. I was very fond of him, and very grateful for his remarkable star turn at the 2004 Republican Convention. Stunningly good rhetoric. And he was a talented actor as well.
62 is far too young. RIP, Mr. Silver.

Shame. Good actor, not so much on the politics, although he was for Rudy the first couple times around for mayor.

Thanks you for this thread for Ron Silver.
He was such a great voice after 9/11 for freedom and
against the IslamOfascists.
Am sure Laura Ingraham will have comments tomorrow on her radio program as a Cancer survivor and who apprecieated his comments for freedom.
