I find your article very insulting towards the base/people of faith.

In light of Steele’s regrettable GQ interview, AFA President Don Wildmon asked members if the beleaguered Republican chief should resign from his post, declaring the former Lieutenant Governor of Maryland believes “abortion is a choice, and homosexuality is not.”

An overwhelming 94% of the more than 74,500 respondents answered Wildmon in the affirmative.

These people vote. They also give money to campaigns and political parties that represent them and do not insult them. They stay home during elections, change party affiliations, and stop the money flow, due to the multitude of RINO candidates that are foisted upon them by the RNC.

They are not stupid people who live in "flyover country." They understand that a RINO RNC Chairman who speaks like a RINO in public is not going to represent their convictions. He will not lead the conservative movement. He will not foster and promote the Republican Party as the Party of Life, because he does not share these convictions deep inside himself.

Both Chairman Steele and his socially conservative detractors, the number of which are growing by the thousands at AFA’s website, are sorely misinformed: The role of RNC Chairman is not one of a curator of opinion. Steele’s opinions on abortion and gay rights – whenever he settles on one – should have no influence on the implementation of sound strategies in his capacity as chairman.

Steele's opining in public, in opposition to any of the Republican Party planks, has everything to do with the type of impact he will have on the Party's future. He must leave NOW, or the Party will continue its downhill slide. That's indisputable fact. And if you want to persist in disagreement, just wait and you'll see for yourself soon enough.

The premature calls for the forcible ejection of the first African American chairman of the RNC – like those by the AFA’s tunnel-visioned membership – only offer credibility to the maddening circular firing squad meme.

Here we go again with the "circular firing squad." You and your ilk refuse to see that it's the conservatives who have been put in the center, and it's the RINOs that have the guns. How do I know that? Because it's the RINOs who keep on losing the elections, after all their work in selecting RINO candidates, and marginalizing the so called "Religious Right" with a superior air of mocking disgust.

I heard Rush Limbaugh mention "Red State" the other day. I took note because I've gone to your site every once in a while. Well, this article strikes me as the very antithesis of Rush's CPAC speech - very contrary to the whole concept of deeply held conservative values and principles as being the guiding force and basis for saving our country. I hope Rush sees this article, and I hope he hands your butt to you.

Remember, trolls, being brainless, are unable to understand any response that you guys make that is either logical or emotional. (That doesn't seem to leave much room for enlightenment!)

There are only two important facts:

  1. The GOP has won zero (0) WH elections without the support of the right-wing base since Nixon; and,

  2. The GOP has won control of Congress zero (0) times without the support of the right-wing base since Nixon.

The losses, on the other hand, came with the base sitting on their hands over their distaste for rancid RINO meat.

Does any one have reliable stats on abortion rights polling?

Steele has already lost the conservatives with his recent comments. He might as well go before it gets too much closer to the next major elections.

I agree, Steele is a victim of political self-castration. He will never hold any credibility within conservative circles. He may as well take a long look around his office and clean out his desk already.

Where he leads, I will not follow.

The republicans seem to have problems with Mr Steele in several areas.

That is their problem, not mine.

Katon Dawson? Isn’t he the guy that got called out for belonging to an all-white country club? Lord, I’m not sure which sounds worse: “GOP nominates their own black guy!” or “GOP nominates blatantly racist white guy.” Is it really that hard to find a guy that’s actually conservative and doesn’t have have a dozen skeletons in his closet?!

Yeah...Right. This was a red herring thrown out by the MSM to disqualify a qualified candidate. Bottom line, there are alot of “clubs” around the nation (not just in the South) that have OLD “rules” that make no sense or are not politically correct by today’s standards. If we look hard enough, we might even find Democrat Senators with KKK sheets hidden in their closets...Um, oops....

Michael Steele you’re an affirmative Action choice who can’t cut it. Stop embarrassing us and resign

Michael Steele it’s time for you to go. You’re an affirmative action failure who never should have been elected to run the RNC and you scare me. There is no evidence to suggest you have any grasp of your mission as RNC Chairman. With the life of our nation at stake, America has no time for you to learn. Nothing about you gives me hope or confidence we can turn our Party around.

I wanted to reserve my decision and give you the benefit of any doubt, yet frankly Mr. Steele your election as the first Black RNC Chair smelled fishy from the beginning.

After Obama’s election it seemed a bit too politically correct and looked like panicky affirmative action designed to attract people who will NEVER vote Republican anyway.

My suspicions about you proved well founded.

You just don’t get it.

Your remarks about Rush Limbaugh being an entertainer who is “incendiary” and at times “ugly” prove you don’t understand grassroots conservatism. I can’t overlook this shortcoming.

You are the de jure head of the Republican Party, but because of the vacuum your lack of leadership has produced, Rush Limbaugh IS the de facto leader of the Party.

I’m sick of a leaderless rudderless RNC giving us Bob Michel type leadership. I want a Chairman who will stand up and fight for conservatism and be able to distinguish friends from enemies.

Because of you I will revert to “Whitemailing” the RNC. I’ll send your envelops back with a note giving you a piece of my mind, but nothing else. I won’t contribute another penny to the RNC until you are gone Mr. Steele.

I speak only for myself, but I hope others will join me in this insistence that you leave office before we make any further contributions.

And one more thing Mr. Steele please can this “hip hop” crap. The “hip hop” culture will never vote for us and appealing to it only shows how little you understand about how to bring our Party back. It’s a waste of our time and scarce money and those people are laughing at you behind your back. It’s another embarrassment you have brought to us.

I voted for him (I blame peer pressure). Don't include me in your "we".

the candidate had flaws.

Pretty serious flaws. Didn't share the principles of limited government with his base.

Here’s my advice for the RNC when they interview replacements for Steele - First question: How would you handle a gotcha question on abortion when interviewed by the press.

If they can’t handle it better than Steele thank them for coming in and call in the next candidate.

"If they can’t handle it better than Steele thank them for coming in and call in the next candidate."

Yep! It's sort of like people who can shoot the heck out of the center in 100-yard target practice, but can't hit a moving deer at 25 yards.

I used a parable to respond to you. Fact is you fell into the GQ reporter's trap believing that he had a quote from Steele about abortion's legitimacy (and moral standing) ~ like a "green rookie".

You really gotta' quit believing the acolytes of the Father of Lies on all this stuff, and be careful even of "the time is...." and "I'll buy....", because they'll lie about the time of day and about picking up the tab.

I do not use the term "snarky". It's meaning is not yet settled sufficiently to trust its use in political discussion. Leftwingtard GQ reporters, among others, will undoubtedly bend your use of it to imply that you participate in sexual orgies with animals.

Let the word play out and be adopted with a "fixed meaning", or just forget it.
