Do plants have stem cells?

In theory, is it possible to grow an apple or a marijuana bud in a petri dish?

No soil, no pests, no stalks or leaves, no weather.

In theory, it seems like a productivity miracle.

Yes.

Hydroponic gardening as an industry is doing well here in SE Ohio.

I know of cloning tobacco back in 1970s. Grafting branches into trees is a way to reproduce seedless fruits.
