No. Have you? Wait...never mind. You'll probably lie and tell me you have, just to support your own point.
Yes, I'm that cynical. I don't have much faith in human decency under the best of circumstances, so why should I believe for one minute that criminals behind bars would have a more refined sense of decency than those of us outside prison walls?
Child killers have a name in middle Tennessee - corpses.
However, to be clear, in the case of prison, it is macho thing, not a decency thing.
Pedophiles and child killers are in protective custody because the other inmates will attack and likely kill those slimeballs. The reason is rooted in their sense of “right” and “wrong.” Cowards victimize children and therefore they, in turn, will be victimized. Victimizing children is not a manly thing to do and is what a weak man does.
Sounds odd, but it is a fact of life (or death), that it is viewed that way. I suppose the same cowardly thing may apply for those that kill or rape women, and it does in a small way, BUT not to the level of hatred towards child molesters and child killers.
I couldn't find anything more recent.
Actually, it was an actual question. I thought you might have some firsthand knowledge that would dispel the "popular myth".
From what I have heard about the corrections field (I have a cousin who works at a prison in Glenville, Georgia),NO ONE would ever lie and say that they work there. Seems it would be more common for folks to lie and say that they DON'T work there.
Stay classy.
