All the evidence suggests Elvis Presley is more alive today than Osama bin Laden. But tell that to the CIA and all the other misconceptualizers of the War on Terror.
Seven years after Osama bin Laden's last verifiable appearance among the living, there is more evidence for Elvis's presence among us than for his. Hence there is reason to ask whether the paradigm of Osama bin Laden as terrorism's deus ex machina and of al Qaeda as the prototype of terrorism may be an artifact of our Best and Brightest's imagination, and whether investment in this paradigm has kept our national security establishment from thinking seriously about our troubles' sources. So let us take a fresh look at the fundamentals.

Osama turned over his operations to his sons several years ago. The youngest is now in charge of Al Queda jhad, and is the violent jhad type. The older is wanting to change the world to Islam in a much more civilized way (Sic). Both are handling various aspects of Osama’s terrorist groups...etc. It was on the news a couple of years ago, so I don’t understand the interest in Osama bin laden as he has passed the torch to his sons. Killing or capturing him now is symbolic of a finishing touch to 9/11 but I doubt he is calling the shots...and is probably dying in some cave if not gone already. My original thought was he was in Somalia early on and using messengers to make it look like he was in Pakistan, but now who knows. Maybe the pirates have him.

Hey, I hope you’re correct. But at this point I don’t give a shit anymore. There are other mofos that need to be like Elvis. I realize I am in the minority on this point, but what else is new?

UBL's main goal has always been the overthrow of the House of Saud and "purification" of the Arab Peninsula. Meaning no more infidels, Shiites or Jews. That is definitely underway in Yemen.
I believe the current plan is to retrain and regroup Bin Laden's Arab AQ in Iran and then infiltrate to Yemen; with Zawahiri's Egyptian AQ being given operational leadership of the Af-Pak theater and Somalia.
AQ has not gotten along for some time, there is a split between the Muslim Brotherhood/Egyptians and the Arab/Yemeni/Salafists. The split became final several months ago when UBL no-showed a meeting with Zawahiri. UBL's son Hamza who has been groomed for AQ leadership was sighted in December in N Swat with his bodyguards leaving the area for good.
I am convinced that UBL is in the Shafiite Hadhramaut region of Yemen between the Wadi Masila and the coast of the Arabian Sea.
