Time flies!
From Reuters (02/18/09):
The grandmother of California's newborn octuplets faces the threat of foreclosure on the house she has shared with her daughter and six of her grandchildren, property records revealed on Wednesday.
According to a mortgage default notice filed last week with the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder's Office, Angela Suleman is more than $23,000 behind in payments on her house in the Los Angeles suburb of Whittier, an agency spokesman said.
The default notice was first made public when a copy of the document, giving Suleman three months to settle her debt in order to avoid foreclosure, was posted on the celebrity news website TMZ.com.
From Reuters (03/10/09):
Nadya Suleman, the California woman who gave birth to octuplets in January, says she's buying a house of her own, despite news reports otherwise.
"I earned it. ... No, my father did not purchase this house for me. I did it on my own," Suleman told Radar magazine's Web site during a video tour of the home.
"It's 1,000-square-footage bigger than the old house," she said as she showed the 2,583-square-foot house in a cul-de-sac with manicured lawns in La Habra, California. News reports had said that her father was buying the house.
She did not say specifically how she was paying for the house, but told Radar: "My ultimate goal is not to be a burden on ... taxpayers. So there have been a couple of offers. ... I selectively picked a couple of opportunities to earn some resources for the kids."
People.com reported that the home, which was listed for $564,900, has four bedrooms and a large backyard.
Sen. Ralph Hudgens (R-Georgia) is skeptical. "She's not married, unemployed, on welfare and now she's putting those 14 children on the back of the California taxpayers."

On second thought, make that a Prime time nutcase!
New Denny’s Suleman Special:
6 eggs, no sausage and the customer next to you pays.
A house that size in La Habra is NOT cheap.
Well, it sure is for Suleman and all of her "assets."
“Suleman symbolizes everything that is messed up about welfare and public assistance in a nutshell.”
The libs in the MSM attempt to act as though they’re shocked by what Suleman has done, all the while knowing the the welfare public housing whores, have been doing the same thing for years... having more babies for more entitlement money.
She also symbolizes (At least to me) the corruption of much of the Tabloid, Celebrity crazed Society many occupy. In a normal and rational World, her children would be taken and cared for and she would by a complete outcast. Instead, she is actually rewarded for her dysfunction, something it is obvious she has been counting on all along.
Look for some Reality Show. Of course there will be the expected Book Deal - As if there is anything about her life that isn’t plainly evident and certainly not worth reading about. And then there are all the pictures that the warped will gobble up for her further enrichment.
Sick but predictable.
Five kids per room plus one for her. Nice.
I can’t tell how I come to know this, but the rumor is that TV’s ridiculous Dr. Phil is the one fronting the cash for the new house she’s living in.
“A house that size in La Habra is NOT cheap.”
La Habra is the northern most city in Orange County, and is adjacent to Lost Angeles County.
La Habra is in the lower range of cities in Orange County in terms of desirability and therefore in terms of real estate prices.
A comparable home in Newport Beach or Irvine would be significantly higher.

Well, he must be pro-life then, right?
Here is another rumor:
I am registered with an exclusive nanny-referral service in So Cal. This last week, I received an invitation to interview for a position for a high-profile family with multiple preemies. It stated that several nannies would be working together and that the compensation began at $20 per hour (for a 10-12 hour shift, full time).
Who else could it be but this family? I wondered how she was going to scrounge up $20 per hour for several full-time nannies?
However, it could just be a coincidence! :)
i want her to pay back the hospital.
she took this on without a thought to the kids and who pays the bills.
Thanks...when I laughed out loud my co-workers knew I wasn’t working...at least on work!
Oh, geesh. Heaven help those babies. They're going to need our prayers.
Sounds like she signed that porn contract...
a local (calif) interview early on with the father was very interesting - he stated that they had a house for Octomom ‘where nobody would ever find it’ and that it was ‘huge’.
Now the question poses, with Octo now having possession of a 1/2mil house, can the state of Calif now sue and lien the house for medical bills incurred with the octuplets and with the ongoing bills for her existing brain-damaged children? I sure hope so.
I don't think that's an accurate rumor - there was an offer by Gloria Allred (the attorney) whereby Allred would provide a home gratis along with 8 full-time, round-the-clock caretakers; Octomom turned it down because she didnt' want the 'invasion of privacy' of her daily activities iirc
In the NBC interview, Suleman said she “longed for certain connections and attachments with another person that ... I really lacked, I believe, growing up.” She called her childhood “pretty dysfunctional.”
Her father was a guest on Oprah and disputed her daughter’s statements in the NBC interview, telling Winfrey his daughter was spoiled.
“We gave her so much love,” he said. “No child has so much love. I thought what she meant is because she is the only child. I’m sure that’s what she meant. She really wanted a brother or sister.”
NBC’s interview with Suleman was its most-watched prime-time show that week. “Dateline NBC” hadn’t seen an audience that large since Matt Lauer interviewed Prince William and Prince Harry in 2007 — an indication that viewers have an intense interest in the subject.
It’s why television shows have fought for pieces of the story, like Suleman’s father on Winfrey’s Chicago-based show. The biggest interview remaining is her fertility doctor, who has declined to comment since the octuplets’ birth.
“Good Morning America” heavily promoted an interview on Monday with Denis Beaudoin, who said he was in a relationship with Suleman in the late 1990s and had donated sperm at her request. Suleman has said Beaudoin is not the father of the octuplets, but he wants DNA testing.
Over the weekend, ABC teased the story in promos that didn’t identify Beaudoin by name, but urged viewers to tune in Monday to find out.
Murphy called it a legitimate part of the story, and said Beaudoin had approached the network.
The promotion may have paid off: “Good Morning America” was within 218,000 viewers of NBC’s first-place “Today” show on Monday, an unusually tight margin between them — although ABC’s Oscars telecast the night before also helped “Good Morning America.”
