Muskogee - A child rapist has been sentenced to probation after pleading guilty to raping a six-year-old girl.
Forty-four-year-old Vincent Martin LeCompte was charged with felony first-degree rape. As part of a plea agreement, LeCompte was handed a 20-year suspended sentence.
"We feel that justice has been served," Adair County Assistant District Attorney Shannon Otteson told the Muskogee Phoenix. "The defendant admitted what he did and will serve under very, very stringent rules and restrictions of probation."
Otteson says the victim had testified previously three times and that it was like being raped all over again. She says under the terms of his probation, LeCompte will be required to undergo sex offender treatment and he will be restricted on where he can live and work for the next 20 years.
The girl's mother says her daughter is traumatized and is in counseling.
Bottom line, he admitted the rape. The DA should never have bargained for no time.

The way I read it, he pleaded guilty as part of the deal. No deal, no guilty plea.
I can tell you exactly how it happens. You watch your child be put on the stand to testify against their predator. You watch a defense attorney do everything they can to destroy your child. (and not the DA says that the child had testified on three occassions). At some point you and the child need to move on before you both go insane. It is sad but all too true.
If he doesn't run into a stray bullet somehow, hunting accident or something.

Yeah, it should have gone to trial, and a prosecutor with more than 12 IQ points would have done so. That whore of a prosecutor has now guaranteed more babies are going to suffer the same fate.
That poor child had to testify THREE times in an attempt to mete out justice, the POS admits to the rape, and he walks?
I am livid.

Maybe the judge wanted him out of jail.... and accessible to the general public.
If it was my daughter, niece or grand-daughter, I would dispense a little justice myself.

That makes it even worse, a family betrayal.
No matter who it is he needs to be incarcerated for life or executed for destroying an innocent 6 year old’s life.

i have a cousin whose husband is awaiting trial (sitting in jail) for molesting his 3 fostered daughters starting on each when they were 7 yrs old until they moved out in their later teen years. according to the girls he did everything sexual that you can think of. it also came to light that their was a 4th vbictim. the amazing thing is my cousin (his wife) is now standing by him and believes he is innocent. she even got one of the 4 girls to recant. it is just unbelievable what these guys do. he has already been beaten 3 times by the other inmates (once in his sleep)and now sits in isolation.
Why on earth did that poor girl have to testify 3 times? Can’t they videotape it or something?
For which Monsieur LaCompte should be paying. On both counts.
Another story says that he’s her stepfather.
