..."They charged that many of the new cabin crew, for example, were graduates of religious Imam Hatip schools rather than of technical universities - Imam Hatip schools were, the pilots said, classified as 'trade schools' and the Imam Hatip alumni were therefore 'camouflaged' as trade school graduates. This is no trivial claim, if true: the main responsibility of cabin crew is not to serve meals, but to handle in-flight emergencies or evacuations"

I have heard horror stories of sundry arab countries' air forces rotting on the ground, it seems to be contagious
“How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity.
The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property, either as a child, a wife, or a concubine, must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men. Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities - but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science, the science against which it had vainly struggled, the civilization of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilization of ancient Rome.”
-Sir Winston Churchill (The River War, first edition, Vol. II, pages 248-50
(London: Longmans, Green & Co., 1899).
“..arab countries’ air forces rotting on the ground..”
Can’t you just see Israeli fighter pilots rubbing their hands in glee?
The best way to look at Sharia?
It is political correctness - albeit with a different focus, and magnified by 100 times.
ermmm... What picture?
Now that is a quote.
Whenever I hear the words “Islam” and “aircraft” in the same sentence a red flag goes up....
And remember kiddies, "All societies are of equal value"
Reason 1432 to NOT fly to an islmaic country, or on their airlines.
Yeah, that one stood out for me too! Imagine the Sky Caps: “Nothing to see here folks, move along”.
They can barely maintain 1960’s technology trucks. In both Gulf Wars, ours and Britain’s MBT’s went through their armor like crap through a goose. If the first Gulf War Saddam had his pilots fly their planes to Iran and in the second, he didn’t (or couldn’t) even get them in the air.
Amazing story and photos. Thanks for posting. You will now be stoned to death. ;o)
NR gets it right sometimes. Here’s a must read. And they reference a great, great line by William Henry III from his excellent book....

Well scratch Turkish Airlines from my list of potential air carriers.
Now that was funny. Thanks for posting.
No kidding.. Gulf War I was like being at one of those shooting ranges with those little tin silhouette animals moving past on a conveyor belt.
