No offense, but marijuana just ain’t that much of a profitable plant. If it’s legalized, anyone could plant it and the price would be 75 cents an ounce.

Ahhh....yes, grasshopper
But if I could by some supremo herb for a modest price, I might not want to fool with the gardening side of things.
I'd spend my time making McGuyver kinds of smoking devices.....

And the crime syndicates would have to find honest work. No, the mob has bought off the politicians to make sure their profit is protected.

Now, if you could raise industrial hemp, you could make some money!

I don't know about that. People seem to have no problem paying for fruits & vegetables they could instead grown in their backyards.

Plus, growing marijuana isn't that easy, especially when you account for quality.

And I'm sure California's prison & court budgets could use a breather from locking up people for low-level drug use & possession.

Pot turns you into a lazy, paranoid, hedonistic, delusional, error prone, laughing hysteric with diminished capacity for judgement. I still prefer it to alcohol.

Are you trying to make the point that it shouldn't be legalized because it'll only be 75 cents an ounce?

Which incidentally it wont. From my "understanding", it take about 1 plant to produce an ounce and a plant take several months to produce that crop - let alone the cost of the land, fertilizer and inevitable taxes. I'm not sure how all of that equates to $.75 an ounce. Help me understand it better please.
