"How do you split the baby?"

Well, this is the $64,000 question. And don't get me wrong, I think most local judges are morons so I wouldn't necessarily expect wise decisions.

But the fact that public school is a default schooling decision is obvious. So if the parents disagree, then the judge decides.

"Splitting the baby" might mean home-schooling 2 and sending one to the local PS. But this is idiotic and is no different than divorce decrees in the past that award custody of one child to the father and one to the mother.

The husband is probably trying to "stick it" to his wife. He knows the advantage of homeschooling and can see it in his kids. But he might be envious of the additional connection with the kids, and perhaps the time in intimate prayer, that he loses out on now that they're separated and Mom has them from 8 to 3 PM.

The problem here is the sin of divorce, not the judge's decision.

The problem here is the sin of divorce, not the judge’s decision. Absolutely correct. God hates divorce and one has only to observe the results it has on children to understand why.

You'll have to pardon me, since I was a victim of Government Schools, and all, though it did inspire me to make great sacrifices to insure my child did not become similarly victimized... but because of the deficiencies in my education, could you explain why government schooling is the obvious default decision in situations like this?

I honestly don't get it.
