Wow, so they have a government run monopoly Liquor store chain in New Brunswick, and laws that specify a minimum price floor. The stated purpose of the law is to reduce demand (and reduce sales).

And they are losing business to private enterprises that are just a few miles away, across a bridge, that don't have the artificial price floor.

And their solution is a private label beer that will always be available at the minimum (sale/promotional) price, which is still well above the price across the bridge.

Amazing.

Ohio has a screwed up system too. State Stores. The choices are limited by the state. Used to be you couldn’t find Mount Gay Rum anywhere. Now you can usually find only one of the rums they make. I’d vacation in Florida, and take a bunch of extra cash to stock up. In Holmes Beach, the little package store had over 80 kinds of rum! I was in Rummy Heaven!
