Obama Live on CNBC Business Roundtable Speech NOW - Anybody Watching?
CNBC

Posted on 03/12/2009 1:39:00 PM PDT by what's up

It was the usual bobble-headed speech where Obama was seen as addressing the room so warmly and personally, but actually is him addressing 2 teleprompter boxes. Now he is getting questions from the Business Roundtable.

The Roundtable seems to be asking just sycophantic questions.

But what got me is that Obama came on 5 minutes AFTER the market closed. Seems that he's getting the hint he needs to shut up while markets are open because he tanks them.

Of course he waits until after the market closes to go on TV.

Obama is using the usual technique of calling on people listed on the paper in front of him instead of daring to take unsoliticited questions

That's so he can use the prepared answers from the teleprompter. If he takes questions that aren't pre-approved, in the proper order, then he would have to go off script. We've seen why he doesn't want to do that.

Says Atlanta may not have any water soon because of “changing weather patterns”.

I switch channels religiously whenever I see his ugly mugg on TV. I know it is best to know ones enemy, but I just can’t stomach that POS.

Obama: the biggest joke in the Oval Office since January 20, 1977.

The teleprompter must be messing up because he’s giving the same answer to this question that he gave to some other earlier suck up.

Sure. Wait until you know there has been a couple 'up' days, and then schedule your time after market close but before the nightly news cycle, so that your minions can pretend your speech was the cause of the rally. Simple, really.

Oh brother. Says things were worse 2 years ago than everyone thought but they're not as bad now as everybody says. What a self-serving putz.

Not all the markets. On the Forex market, the dollar just lost a little more than 100 pips (against the Euro) during that timeframe. Cost me about $80-- unless it comes back up.

Nope...watching a repeat of Seinfeld while surfing Free Republic...much more informative on both counts. Actually I never saw the Seinfeld episode before...it has Elane going into a nail salon and the Korean ladies are laughing at her...Jerry is playing baseball and some girl's frankfurter just fell and she is crying about it...George's father speaks Korean so I imagine that Elane will ask him to go to the nail salon with her to find out what the Korean ladies are saying....see much more interesting than Obama.

Probably because of poor city planning. These boom towns have found themselves out of water before.

Actually, rain (and snow) levels are up this year and Lake Lanier is off to a good start:
