Can't link to KSDK news site, but they are reporting that Obama tried to remove Hanaway (republican AG) with McCullough-D as Missouri AG.

Hanaway has been an exemplary AG, so it appears Obama is "politicizing" the AG office.

We need hearings...question Holder, etc.

Missouri? Isn’t this a battleground state... the have to get legal control of the election process there.

Wasn’t McCullough involved in the infamous “Obama Truth Squads” before the election?

So this would be political payment for his services, I guess.

Would this have anything to do with the ‘birth certificate issue’?

IIRC, that’s Missouri’s business, not Obama’s.

Do you mean US Attorney? Obama cannot fire a State Attorney General.

The AG for NY State is an elected office. Is it an appointed office in Missouri?

How can Obama fire a state AG? Answer...he can't.

Now, if the Gov is a Dem then the local gov, or the loal legislature can maybe make a difference...but Obama cannot do this.

My guess is that the AG is elected there in MO, so short of law breaking or a bad scandal, I don't see this happening.

In addition, the link doesn;t work to the story.

That’s U.S. Attorney, not state Attorney-General.

Here’s one recent article on this business:

http://www.legalnewsline.com/news/195505-gop-hopes-of-replacing-mo.-attorney-general-rising-with-hanaway

This is a state position, not the US Attorney for this district, so I don’t see how Obama can do more than endorse the Democrat. But maybe I’m missing something.

Uh, no. You mean “US Attorney.” US attorneys serve at the pleasure of the president, and can be removed or appointed at his discretion.

He can fire them all, like the Clintons did.

Huh? Hanaway is the US Attorney. US Attorneys are political appointees, who serve at the pleasure of the President. It is almost unheard of for a new President not to fire them all and replace them with his own appointees. It would be like Obama keeping Condi Rice on as Secretary of State.

Hanaway didn’t run for MO AG last year. The office was won by a turncoat RINO weasel turned rodent.

He can fire them all, like the Clintons did.

Or the way George W. Bush, Ronald Reagan, Jimmy Carter and Richard Nixon did. Every President fires US Attorneys.
