CNSNews.com) - The Department of Justice (DOJ) has launched an investigation of the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office in Arizona following requests by congressional Democrats and allegations by liberal activists that the department has violated the civil rights of illegal aliens.

Per the article, Sheriff Joe is responsible for identifying 33% of the incarcerated illegals IN THE WHOLE COUNTRY.

Chris, you may be right about the nationalizations. It remains to be seen what will actually take place, but I grant you it doesn’t look good.

A few years ago the AZ lege passed legislation to give local law enforcement more power to go after the human smugglers/coyotes.

The Maricopa County Attorney, Andrew Thomas, interpreted the new law to mean that if an an illegal pays the coyote to smuggle him in, then the illegal has entered into a conspiracy with the coyote to smuggle illegals. And this is the basis of Sheriff Joe's arresting the illegals.

Maricopa County is the only county in AZ and in the US doing this.
