WASHINGTON President Obama weighed in Wednesday on the escalating drug war on the U.S.-Mexico border, saying that he was looking at possibly deploying National Guard troops to contain the violence but ruled out any immediate military move.
"We're going to examine whether and if National Guard deployments would make sense and under what circumstances they would make sense," Obama said during an interview with journalists for regional papers, including a McClatchy reporter.
"I don't have a particular tipping point in mind," he said. "I think it's unacceptable if you've got drug gangs crossing our borders and killing U.S. citizens."

Agreed, gun confiscation will almost certainly be part of any “state of emergency” he declares along the border. His atty Gen already said that our civil rights to a gun are negatively impacting Mexico.
He wants his Reichstag fire.
Didn’t they say just yesteray that NO troops would go to the border? Ah yes, but today IS another day.
However, a violation of our immigration law by groups or individuals not aligned with a sovereign nation, does not in my mind allow for the CIC to engage the US Military in the control of the border. I realize it is within the purview of the federal government to protect borders but, I am concerned as to the extent of the control of any CIC once the US Military is engaged with the borders of the country.
This particular CIC gives me pause as to the ultimate agenda he envisions given the radical nature of his associations....
Toss border drug enforcment LEO's into prison?
You said:He THINKS it is acceptable? Why doesn't he just say it IS acceptable?"
You may want to re-read his statement. :-)
WASHINGTON President Obama weighed in Wednesday on the escalating drug war on the U.S.-Mexico border, saying that he was looking at possibly deploying National Guard troops all three of them he said.
He THINKS it’s unacceptable for drug gangs to kill US citizens.
I really don’t understand why citizens don’t look through their glass towards the southern border.
...are sure on this, Barry? I mean, really sure that it's not acceptable?
< /sarcasm >
Good thinking!!
What if Mexico asked us to bomb certain locations, giving all green lights?
Oops! Yes, the exerpt I quoted had "unacceptable" in it and I also meant "unacceptable." I was in a hurry and blew it.
Or maybe it was subliminal and I think it really IS acceptable to Obie!
The question is what DID Bush do? Nothing, save throw border patrol agents who tried to stop the invasion in jail.
Bill O’Reilly was shouting about sending troops to the border ad nauseous since at least 2001. Bush had 6 years of R’s in congress and didn’t even try to do anything about it save for try to make it even worse. Bush rid us of the Al Queda state in Afghanistan and killed Saddam but he failed us for the most part. So did the R congress.
Don’t be so sure. Nothing he does or will do is for the good of the country. Nothing. If he does it, his goal will be to make things worse. IMHO
true, Bush was consistently weak on Mexico. I read it was all part of his and Rove’s long term plan to go soft on Mexico and immigration in exchange for sweetheart deals on Mexican oil to replace Arab oil and to establish a hold in the hispanic vote of 40%+ or so to build the party going forward.
So much for that
I think he will find NG troops that are lefties and that will be the start of his *civilian army*.
NOW SAYS NO TROOPS/NG!

Ping!
Spock, to heck with nObama's Federation crapola... if you ain't from Texas, I'm considering you an illegal alien and tossing your skinny hind end back across the Rio Grande!
He’s got troops at his disposal for this purpose.
