The U.S. Department of Justice is investigating the Maricopa County Sheriff's Department over allegations of discriminatory practices and unconstitutional searches and seizures....
In February, four Democratic members of the House Judiciary Committee asked Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano and Attorney General Eric Holder to investigate possible civil rights violations based on complaints that Arpaio's deputies are targeting people based on their skin color during neighborhood crime sweeps and raids at work sites....

Witch hunts are back. Discrimination by reason of national origin? Well, legal status somewhat depends on national origin.
This has the putrid smell of John Conyers all over it.
These people waste no time going after their political enemies, and to the left, no “crime” is as heinous as “civil rights violations”. “Hate speech” and “hate crimes” are worse than mass murder to these people.
It’s refreshing that there is a tough, no-nonsense sheriff down in Maricopa County that is willing to enforce this country’s immigration laws - that is apparently a cardinal sin to the left-wing LaRaza activists that now populate the US DOJ.
I’m hopeful that the good people of Maricopa County will stand strong with Sheriff Arpaio on this. Any Maricopa FReepers around here?
