The owner robbed himself? He’s dumb enough to be a Liberal!
Just what plans would they have for all the stolen cars? How do you get rid of them? Strip and sell the parts? sell them in Mexico? Hold them hostage? Put them on a boat for foreign countries?
That’ a lot of vehicles.
How on earth did these three yahoos think they could get away with this? I hereby nominate them for the Larwin© Awards, kinda like the Darwin awards, except for stupidity in theft/larceny.
--take it from one who lived there, no, it's not a suburb of SLC-----another example of why you can generally leave off everything after "MSM tells you" in my byline--
Desperate people do desperate things. But going to jail is a little too desperate. I was a Buick dealer for years and nothing like this ever occurred to me, during good times or bad. There ain’t enough money to spend a day in a cell!
All those vehicles and not one had a LowJack type tracking device on it??? There is no reason there should be any vehicle theft today with this technology available.
This sounds like the scam they run here in Taxifornia. You trade your car in and they never send the paperwork to DMV. The vehicle is often sold many times with the 1st owner being on the hock for paying for both vehicles. Bam there goes your credit.
Hopefully, someone will make a tv movie of this.
Then we can enjoy it and have some good laughs.
That link is just loaded with some great quotes:
“Comptroller Rachel Fait, 37, had been arrested at her Utah home early in the evening.”
“Rachel Fait”She lives here in Tooele,” Tooele County Sheriff Frank Park said. “They just went up to her house and found her.”
Hummm! What was a comptroller for a Nebraska Vehicle Dealership doing living in Tooele. That is one hell of a commute.
We can look forward to more interesting news releases about this woman.
What an idiotic scheme. Did they expect they could sell all those cars at auctions and make the border before being caught? Have they never heard of transmission of VINs via the internet and/or telephone?
