Tuesday, March 11, the Employee Free Choice Act (EFCA) was reintroduced into both houses of Congress. This is an important step forward for the country.
Senate bill S. 560 and House bill H.R. 1409, if passed, would help working Americans improve their wages and working conditions by making it easier to join a union if they choose, and passage would also be huge step out of the current economic crisis the country is in.
Also, EFCAand a stronger trade union movement generallyis key to building a bigger, more united progressive movement that can address all the issues of civil rights, womens rights, economic and environmental justice, immigrant rights, and more.
Check to see if your Senators and Representatives have signed on. If so, call to thank them. If not, call and tell them to endorse today. Visit thomas.loc.gov to see whos currently a sponsor.

It is a horrible bill - and it's anti-American to take away the secret ballot.
But, the Left is lying and obscuring in order to win. Obama/Biden will do whatever it takes to get this passed - they have publicly AND privately promised the unions they will be paid back for their election.

The more innocent and high sounding a bill is, the worse it actually is.

EVERYTHING the zero is doing is to ensure that the US becomes a one party country. Just like the USSR, Cuba, China, North Korea, and any of dozens of totalitarian regimes.

This will ruin many of the top 100 (Forbes) privately-owned companies.
Forced mediocrity.
The dumbing-down of society through 40-plus years of liberal, socialist indoctrination by Public Education has failed to bring enough political change for the elitists.
They must now force change through take over of the work place.
The liberty this country has known, liberty bought with blood and treasure is being given away by a minority group of ideologues that could not succeed in their endeavors though our founding governing precepts.
American eceptionalism (sp) is a problem to them and must be diluted or at worst eliminated.
God help us .

Oh great then a Big Mac can cost $15 to cover all of the union employees!

the EFCA does not take away the secret ballot. I changes the existing law to where the employees can unionize either by card check or secret ballot...their choice of method. Currently, the law gives the employer a choice to recognize just a card check or to follow up with a secret ballot. If the employees want to vote, they still vote.

We’ll never see secret balloting again. The thugs will simply get enough cards by targeting the ill-informed, younger workers, new hires, vulnerable workers, poor performers, etc.
