Obama Laments Lack of Elected Women—But Elbowed One Off Illinois Ballot
FinkelBlog ^ | Mark Finkelstein

It’s turning into Hypocrisy Watch Day here at FinkelBlog. Earlier, we noted John Kerry complaining that “partisan politics” had crept into the confirmation process for Obama nominees–despite having engaged in hardball tactics himself to block Bush nominees. Now it’s the president’s turn. Speaking at a “Women of Courage” event, Pres. Obama said

“When women are more than half of our population but just 17% of our Congress . . . we need to ask ourselves some hard questions.”

Your wish is my command, Mr. President. How’s this for a hard question? Are you proud of having used hardball tactics to elbow a Democratic . . . woman off the ballot when you first ran for Illinois State Senate?

Another question: Why do you allow the slaughter and killing of pre-born (and some born) women to continue????????

Yup, and most of the questions are fairly idiotic, which is why we stopped asking them.

This doesn’t apply to He-Who-Must-Be-Obeyed.

Like taxes for his nominees.

Like energy conservation as he jets across country for a signing.

It’s for the common good.

Ok. Question #1. Are women as interested in politics as men?

That must be a really hard question, because our Harvard-educated Messiah is clueless as to the answer.
