Nominations: Haughty Kerry Hypocritical Too
FinkelBlog ^ | Mark Finkelstein

As attention focuses on the lack of people at Treasury to help the beleagured Tim Geithner, Dems–with a helping hand from the MSM– naturally try to shift the blame to Republicans, accusing them of holding up nominations. We just had a perfect example of the phenomenon as—with an assist from Andrea Mitchell—John Kerry decried the intrusion of “partisan politics” into the confirmation process. Mitchell wanted to “clear up what you’re talking about” by explaining to viewers that “it’s probably Republicans” who have put holds on nominees. Thanks, Andrea.

But I found myself wondering: has the great junior senator from Massachusetts ever held up nominations himself? It took me all of 30 seconds of Googling to find out that–surprise!–he had. Take the nomination of Samuel Alito to the Supreme Court in 2006. Alito was unquestionably qualified. But guess who was leading a procedural charge to block a vote on the nomination?

No one is holding up anything. Kerry is pursuing the Absurdity of the Week Award again.

I think I heard that John Kerry served in Viet Nam. Can’t verify it though.

And Andrea Mitchell is the perfect one to help him earn it.

Does she not look exactly like her face was craved from an apple that was left out to dry?

You know, I seem to vaguely remember something about that too, Vinnie.

I guess there's an outside change there might be something to it. ;^)

You just don’t understand the Liberal mind. It’s not what they do or say, It’s what their opponents do or say.

I am just a poor unfrozen caveman. Your world disorients and frightens me.

But I was nevertheless under the distinct impression that Sec. Geithner is short of help because no one out there wants the job. Ipso facto, there is nobody to nominate let alone obstruct.

Lol! craved = carved

Mercy! Transposing two little letters can sure change the meaning of an entire statement, huh?

Kerry should be nominated to the newly created post of Gigolo Services For Wealthy Widows.
